WOI India Buys SwiftSeed, Amar Dixit is New Boss of Company

WOI India SwiftSeed Amar Dixit

WOI India has acquired early-stage investment and startup ecosystem platform SwiftSeed Ventures and appointed its founder Amar Dixit as Chief Executive Officer. SwiftSeed will continue to operate as a separate entity under the WOI India platform.

The transaction brings SwiftSeed network of investors, founders, institutions and corporate partners into WOI India at a time when the platform is expanding its work across the startup ecosystem. Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.

SwiftSeed has built a network of more than 500 investors and 10,000 founders, operators and other ecosystem participants. The platform has also made around a dozen startup investments and developed partnerships with institutions including IIT Delhi, IIM Lucknow and IIM Udaipur.

WOI India Acquisition

The acquisition gives WOI India access to a network built around early-stage investing and entrepreneurship. SwiftSeed has also worked with corporate and innovation platforms, including Maruti Suzuki Innovation and Google innovation ecosystem, according to the information provided by the companies.

Its institutional relationships add another layer to WOI India platform, which brings together founders, investors, educational institutions, corporates and other ecosystem participants. WOI India describes itself as a platform focused on connecting these groups and developing entrepreneurship infrastructure across India.

SwiftSeed is expected to continue its activities under the WOI India structure rather than being shut down following the acquisition. This allows the existing network and relationships to remain part of the wider platform while Dixit takes charge of the India business.

Amar Dixit Takes Charge

Dixit has worked for several years in the entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem associated with IIT Delhi. He has been part of the core team of IIT Delhi Angels and previously headed eDC IIT Delhi, where he worked with founders and ventures linked to the institution.

He also serves on the boards of several growth-stage ventures and advises startups and businesses on strategy, growth, partnerships and ecosystem development. His experience covers early-stage investing as well as work with founders, investors and institutions.

Having experienced entrepreneurship from all sides—as a builder, and by working closely with both founders and institutional investors—I have learned that founders need far more than just financial backing. They need the complete ecosystem around that capital.
— Amar Dixit, CEO

In his new role, Dixit will lead the development of WOI India and its engagement with founders, investors, institutions, corporates and international ecosystem partners.

WOI India says it is the Indian chapter of WOI, a global ecosystem development company founded in 2022. According to its official website, WOI India was established in 2023 as a pilot ecosystem and focuses on connecting founders, capital, education, research, infrastructure and government through a wider entrepreneurship platform.

The organisation currently describes its work around six broad areas: education, venture studios, community, centres of excellence, infrastructure and capital. Its stated model is to build programmes and ecosystems by bringing together multiple participants rather than focusing only on individual startups.

What is WOI India

WOI India is a startup and entrepreneurship ecosystem platform that works to connect founders with investors, institutions, corporates, government bodies and other ecosystem participants. The organisation says its aim is to build infrastructure and networks that support entrepreneurship across different sectors and regions.

The platform is part of WOI, which has its global headquarters in Dubai. Its India operation was established as a pilot ecosystem and has since expanded into areas including venture building, startup communities, capital access and innovation infrastructure.

The platform also lists initiatives and ventures across its six building blocks, including Startup School, Skill Univ, GydeXP, Reslink Energy and RaySuite AI. It says these programmes are intended to create connections between entrepreneurs, capital providers, institutions and industry.

Acquisition Adds Access

For WOI India, the SwiftSeed acquisition adds an established founder and investor network to its existing ecosystem model. For SwiftSeed, continuing under the WOI India platform provides a broader institutional structure for its investor and startup relationships.

Appointment of Dixit also puts a founder with experience across startups, investment and institutional entrepreneurship programmes at the centre of WOI India operations. The immediate focus will be on integrating the two networks and developing engagement with founders, investors, institutions and corporate partners.

The acquisition comes as WOI India outlines a wider expansion strategy covering venture studios, capital, education and ecosystem infrastructure. The SwiftSeed network is now expected to form part of that broader platform as the organisation develops its India operations.
