Maruti Suzuki India Limited has partnered with five young startups in the fifth round of its startup program. The company wants to use new technology to make office work faster and also set up a system in India to recycle old electric car batteries.
Names of 5 Startups
The five startups are Sarvam AI, MiniMines, Easework AI, Siftly, and CodeMate AI. With their help, Maruti Suzuki plans to cut costs and make its supply chain stronger. This will also prepare the company for more electric cars in the future.
The selection was done through the Maruti Suzuki Incubation Program. This program is run together with NSRCEL, the startup hub at IIM Bangalore. It looks for young companies that can give ready solutions to real problems in factories and offices.
This year’s program has two main goals. First, to bring more digital automation in Maruti Suzuki’s office work. Second, to build a local system for safe recycling of used electric car batteries, so that materials can be reused in a sustainable way.
MiniMines Partnership
Maruti Suzuki tie-up with MiniMines is very important for the Indian auto industry. At present, India depends fully on imports for battery materials like lithium, cobalt, and nickel. This makes car companies face risks from changing global prices and political issues. MiniMines will work on methods to extract and recycle these minerals from old lithium-ion batteries.
By creating a system where battery materials can be reused, Maruti Suzuki wants to make its supply chain stronger. This will help the company prepare for large-scale electric car production and also support its long-term goal of reducing carbon emissions.
This focus on technology comes at a time when Maruti Suzuki is producing cars at a historic scale. In the financial year 2025-26, the company made a record 23.4 lakh vehicles. Running such a big operation requires cutting extra costs to keep profits safe.
Role of Other Startups
The other four startups in the program are working on automation and digital solutions. Their aim is to improve Maruti Suzuki’s dealer network and office systems, making the company more efficient and future-ready.
Maruti Suzuki is also focusing on digital transformation. This track brings new automation layers across different parts of the business. The aim is to make customer services, office work, and brand promotion more efficient.
Sarvam AI is building multilingual chat systems. These will help Maruti Suzuki handle customer queries in different regional languages in a smooth and standard way. Easework AI is working on automation for non-production tasks. It will make the process of buying office and maintenance supplies faster and more cost-effective.
CodeMate AI has been brought in to speed up the making of internal software. This will help Maruti Suzuki launch new corporate applications more quickly. Siftly is focusing on digital tools that will improve Maruti Suzuki’s brand presence. The goal is to strengthen the company’s visibility in the market.
"The objective of working with these early-stage companies is to embed deep tech directly into our existing operational workflows rather than continuing with legacy manual methods," an official company statement noted.
"As production volumes cross the 23 lakh unit threshold annually, maintaining a strict cost-to-output ratio becomes vital. Collaborating with specialized technology firms allows the company to test agile solutions that can reduce administrative overhead, accelerate internal software development, and build a reliable, localized supply chain for critical battery components before our mass EV deployment begins."
Analyst View
For big investors and auto industry experts, these startup partnerships will show how flexible Maruti Suzuki is as a company. The success of these projects will be closely watched. Right now, these ideas are at the testing stage. The main financial test will be whether Maruti Suzuki can move from small trials to full use in its factories and offices.
If these new technologies are successfully used across Maruti Suzuki’s large manufacturing and dealer network, they can help protect profits by reducing costs and improving efficiency.
