Australian cricketer Glenn Maxwell has made a strategic investment in Indian sports startup Drive FITT, marking his first business venture in the country. Drive FITT is a new-age membership-based sports club that focuses on combining cricket-specific training, modern fitness programs, and athlete recovery in one integrated platform.

Launched in 2024, Drive FITT was founded by a high-profile team including Preity G Zinta, Shubman Gill, Mark Sellar, Deke Smith, and Vikram Aditya Bhatia. The platform aims to redefine how athletes train, recover, and perform by offering world-class infrastructure and technology-enabled solutions. The startup integrates real-time analytics into training routines to support both emerging and professional athletes.

Glenn Maxwell Shares His Excitement

Maxwell expressed his enthusiasm about joining the Drive FITT team, saying that fitness, recovery, and cricket have been essential throughout his career. He believes that Drive FITT brings these elements together in a unique and innovative way that supports the next generation of players.

Maxwell’s contribution goes beyond money. He will be actively involved in shaping Drive FITT’s training strategies, mentoring programs, and brand positioning. His hands-on participation includes helping design recovery methods, creating athlete-focused content, and offering insights from his vast international cricket experience.

Preity, Shubman Welcome Maxwell Onboard

Co-founder Preity Zinta, who has known Maxwell through their time together at Punjab Kings in the IPL, said his athlete-first mindset is in perfect sync with the company’s mission. She praised his dedication to excellence and called his involvement a special milestone for Drive FITT.

Shubman Gill, another co-founder, said that Maxwell’s addition will inspire many young athletes in India. He added that Glenn’s deep understanding of fitness and his commitment to performance and recovery make him an ideal partner for the growing sports-tech platform.

Targeting Athlete Development Space

Drive FITT offers a flexible, membership-driven experience designed for both serious athletes and everyday fitness enthusiasts. With cutting-edge performance tracking and recovery systems, it aims to build a world-class ecosystem tailored to the evolving needs of Indian athletes.

The startup has already caught the attention of elite professionals, and with Maxwell’s global reputation and credibility, Drive FITT is expected to grow significantly in India’s booming sports and wellness market.

Co-founders Mark Sellar, Deke Smith, and Vikram Aditya Bhatia all highlighted how Maxwell’s knowledge and passion bring immense value. His presence helps position Drive FITT as not just a gym or a training centre, but a complete performance ecosystem for cricket and beyond.
