Music Broadcast Appoints Sameer Kasare as Head of Tech

Radio City company Music Broadcast Sameer Kasare

Music Broadcast Limited (MBL), the operator of the Radio City FM radio network, has expanded its leadership team with the appointment of Sameer Kasare as Head of Technology and Infrastructure. The move comes at a time when traditional radio broadcasters are increasingly realigning their operations to bridge the gap between terrestrial broadcasting and digital audio delivery.

Kasare brings over 27 years of experience in media, broadcast, digital, and enterprise technology to his new role. Prior to joining Radio City, he managed technology portfolios at several prominent media and entertainment conglomerates. His previous professional stints include leadership roles at Carnival Group, ABP News, India Today Group, and Reliance Broadcast Network Limited.

Digital Shifts

At Music Broadcast Limited, Kasare will oversee the company's technology roadmap, infrastructure deployment, and data security frameworks. His immediate responsibilities include leading the company towards cloud-hosted operations, deploying artificial intelligence for workflow automation, and strengthening cybersecurity protocols. A primary focus area will be the operational integration of the company's traditional broadcast infrastructure with its expanding digital platforms.

"The audio entertainment sector is experiencing an operational shift where legacy distribution systems must seamlessly interface with digital delivery channels," an official statement from the company noted regarding the appointment. "Kasare’s extensive background across broadcast and enterprise technology is expected to assist the company in modernizing its infrastructure and building an agile, future-ready media ecosystem."

The appointment highlights a broader industry trend where Indian regional media networks are investing heavily in modern technology stacks to secure distributed workflows and optimize transmission efficiency. Broadcasters face regular challenges in maintaining high-availability legacy networks while simultaneously scaling digital streaming architectures to capture younger, smartphone-first demographics.

Infrastructure Expansion

In his official capacity, Kasare will look at migrating legacy storage and processing systems to centralized cloud environments, which is expected to lower long-term capital expenditure and improve disaster recovery readiness. Automation of scheduling, playlist management, and programmatic ad insertion are also on the agenda to streamline daily programming across Radio City’s multiple stations.

"The focus will remain on driving technology-led infrastructure that supports both linear broadcasting and digital audio formats," a senior company official stated. "Integrating these two distinct ecosystems requires robust network security and stable architecture to ensure uninterrupted delivery to listeners across all touchpoints."
