Sauce-Backed EDT Raises $2.4M, Launches Beauty Brand SUKI

EDT raises $2.4 million, co-founder, CEO Naiyya Saggi

Mumbai-based consumer technology brand EDT has raised $2.4 million in a Pre-Series A funding round led by existing investor Sauce, as the startup expands from kitchen appliances into beauty-tech.

The round was oversubscribed, according to the company. Existing angel investors also participated, along with new investors including Alteria Capital, Raul Rai of Nicobar, Shibam Das and Arindam Paul of Atomberg, Ajith Pai of Delhivery and Anushree Tainwala of Samsonite.

EDT said it will use the new capital to build inventory ahead of the festive season, introduce additional products and strengthen its supply chain, product, brand and growth teams.

EDT Funding Round

The funding announcement comes alongside the launch of SUKI, EDT first hair-care device. The company describes the product as a “Care-Dryer” and said it is built around a patent-pending CareDry algorithm.

According to EDT, SUKI combines controlled heat and airflow with plasma ions. The company also said the device has undergone clinical testing and showed a 110% improvement in hair strength and integrity over repeated use, along with lower static, breakage and frizz compared with a regular fixed-heat hair dryer.

These performance figures are claims made by the company. EDT has not disclosed in the information provided the details of the clinical study, including the sample size, methodology or independent institution involved.

SUKI marks a change in EDT product focus, which until now has centred on consumer appliances for the home and kitchen. The startup said it plans to build a wider portfolio across home, kitchen and personal care.

Startup Builds Portfolio

Startup was founded in 2025 by consumer-tech entrepreneur Naiyya Saggi and industrial designer Vyasateja Rao, EDT currently sells two products. LUMA is a non-toxic air fryer oven, while FLOW is a kettle positioned around hydration and wellness.

EDT said LUMA is its top-selling premium non-toxic air fryer in the category. The company also reported that its business on Amazon grew nearly seven times between March and July 2026, during the startup first seven months of operations.

Its products are available through Amazon, Flipkart, Blinkit, Croma and FoodStories, besides its direct-to-consumer website. EDT also said it was the first and youngest brand in its category to be onboarded by Croma.

The company has not disclosed its overall revenue, profitability or sales volumes in the information provided. Its reported Amazon growth therefore gives only a partial view of the business performance.

More Products Plan

EDT said three more products are planned across home, kitchen and beauty-tech categories. The company plans to spend the next phase on product research and development, distribution, community building and selective hiring.

The expansion comes as the startup moves from individual kitchen appliances towards a broader consumer technology portfolio. SUKI is the first product under this new beauty-tech direction.

Naiyya Saggi, Co-founder and CEO of EDT, said, “We started EDT with a simple conviction: everyday consumer appliances must be reimagined for the realities of a modern premium consumer.” She said SUKI is the first step towards building a beauty portfolio around what the company calls “Intelligent Care”.

Manu Chandra, Founder and Managing Partner at Sauce, said the investor backed the company again after seeing consumer traction and business performance. His comments about EDT potential to expand across home, kitchen and personal care represent the investor view of the company prospects.

About EDT

EDT is a Mumbai-based consumer technology brand founded in 2025 by Naiyya Saggi and Vyasateja Rao. The company develops and sells consumer appliances through a mix of its own direct-to-consumer platform and third-party retail and e-commerce channels.

The startup began with products for the home and kitchen, including the LUMA air fryer oven and FLOW kettle. With the launch of SUKI, EDT is adding personal care to its product range. Its business model is based on developing consumer products, selling them through online marketplaces, quick-commerce platforms, organised retail and its own website.

The latest funding gives EDT additional capital for inventory, product development and distribution while the SUKI launch gives the company a new category to test. Its ability to build sales beyond the initial kitchen portfolio will determine whether the expansion develops into a larger consumer technology business.
