D2C Startup Gramiyaa Raises Rs 18.65 Cr in Series A Funding

Gramiyaa Series A funding

Bengaluru-based cold-pressed oil brand Gramiyaa has raised Rs 18.65 crore in a Series A funding round led by new investor Optiscape Network Holdings. Existing investors Homegrown Ventures and Campus Fund also participated in the round.

The latest capital infusion comes about 18 months after Gramiyaa raised Rs 7.2 crore in a pre-Series A round in March 2025. That round was led by Homegrown Ventures, with participation from Campus Fund and Mumbai Angels.

According to regulatory filings, the company issued 32,968 Series A compulsorily convertible preference shares at Rs 5,657 apiece to raise the latest capital. The proceeds are planned for growth capital and general corporate requirements.

Gramiyaa Series A Funding

Optiscape Network Holdings invested Rs 9 crore in the latest round, making it the largest investor. Homegrown Ventures put in Rs 4.5 crore, while Campus Fund invested Rs 4 crore.

Sarya Global Holdings contributed Rs 90 lakh and Rasagna Pulapaka invested Rs 25 lakh, according to the filings. The funding gives Gramiyaa additional capital as it looks to expand its operations.

The latest round also brings the total disclosed institutional and external funding raised by the company across the two recent rounds to Rs 25.85 crore, excluding any other capital that may have been raised separately.

Brand’s Oil Portfolio

Gramiyaa traces its origins to 2016, when founder Sibi Manivannan started working on a business based on traditional oil-making methods. The company manufactures cold-pressed cooking oils using wood and stone mills along with modern production processes.

Its product portfolio includes groundnut, coconut, sesame and mustard oils, as well as virgin coconut and olive oils. Production is carried out at company facilities or through manufacturing partners, according to the information provided by the company.

The brand follows a direct-to-consumer model and sells through its own website as well as online marketplaces and quick-commerce platforms. Its listed channels include Amazon, Blinkit, Zepto, Instamart, BigBasket, DMart Ready and FirstClub.

Founders Key Stakes

Sibi Manivannan is the largest individual shareholder among the three co-founders, with a 26.04% stake, according to the report cited in the funding details.

Co-founders Mohamed Yaseen and Naveenrajamaran RL each hold 13.02%. The remaining ownership is held by other shareholders, including investors who have participated in previous funding rounds.

The Series A issue involves compulsorily convertible preference shares, which are securities that can later be converted into equity shares subject to the agreed terms. The current funding does not represent a direct sale of ordinary equity shares.

What is Gramiyaa

Gramiyaa is a Bengaluru-based food and consumer brand that sells cold-pressed cooking oils. The business began in 2016 under founder Sibi Manivannan and later added Mohamed Yaseen and Naveenrajamaran RL as co-founders.

The company operates through a mix of its own online channel and third-party commerce platforms. Its business is centred on producing and selling cooking oils made through cold-pressing and traditional milling methods, with products available across several oil categories.

The brand has expanded its distribution beyond its direct website to major e-commerce and quick-commerce platforms. Its current product range includes commonly used cooking oils as well as virgin coconut and olive oils.

Cold-Pressed Oil Market

Cold-pressed oils have gained space in India’s packaged food and direct-to-consumer market, with brands selling them through online marketplaces, quick-commerce services and their own websites. The category includes both established food companies and newer consumer brands.

For companies in the segment, distribution and repeat purchases remain important as they compete for consumers in a market that also includes conventional edible oil brands. Gramiyaa has used online channels to build its distribution and is now raising additional capital for its next phase of operations.

The latest Series A round gives the company fresh funds for expansion, but Gramiyaa has not disclosed specific targets for revenue, new facilities or geographic expansion linked to the funding. The immediate stated use of the capital is growth and general corporate requirements.
