Spinny delivered 1,370 cars across 24 cities on October 11, the first day of Navratri, recording its highest single-day delivery figure so far. The total was 1.7 times its earlier single-day record and 96% higher than deliveries on the first day of Navratri last year.
The used-car platform recorded one delivery roughly every 41 seconds during the day. Its busiest one-hour period was between noon and 1 pm, when 112 vehicles were handed over.
The rise in deliveries followed a quieter period during Shradh, when vehicle purchases typically slow as some buyers wait for the festive season. Spinny said demand picked up after Navratri began, although the figures reflect deliveries rather than total bookings.
Pune Leads Deliveries
Delhi-NCR, Maharashtra and Karnataka together contributed 62% of the total deliveries recorded on the day. Pune was the largest individual city market, with 180 cars delivered.
The delivery mix was led by hatchbacks, which accounted for 55% of vehicles. SUVs made up 26%, while sedans represented 14% of the total. The remaining share came from other vehicle categories.
Maruti Suzuki Baleno was the most delivered model, accounting for about one in every 14 cars. Hyundai Grand i10, Renault Kwid, Maruti Suzuki Swift and Tata Tiago followed among the most delivered models.
Petrol Cars Dominate
Petrol vehicles accounted for 82% of deliveries, while diesel cars made up 12%. The remaining vehicles included 66 CNG cars and 10 electric vehicles.
Automatic cars represented 33% of deliveries across the 24 cities. Bengaluru recorded a higher share, with automatic vehicles accounting for 40% of its deliveries.
Colour preferences also showed a clear concentration. White cars represented 28% of the vehicles delivered, followed by grey at 22%. Blue, silver and red each accounted for 12%.
Buyers Want New Cars
Women accounted for 18% of buyers across the network. Bengaluru recorded a higher proportion at 29%.
Most of the vehicles delivered had limited previous ownership. Cars with one previous owner accounted for 77% of deliveries, while 46% of the vehicles were model year 2021 or newer.
The figures indicate that newer used cars and vehicles with a single previous owner formed a substantial part of festive-period deliveries, although Spinny did not provide a comparison with the wider used-car market.
Online Car Bookings
Most customers booked their vehicles through physical Spinny Hubs, which accounted for 64% of bookings. Online bookings contributed 25%, while phone bookings made up the remaining 11%.
Vehicle financing was used by half of the buyers. Insurance renewals through Spinny partners accounted for 66% of the deliveries, according to the company.
In the luxury segment operated under Spinny Max, BMW vehicles represented 33% of deliveries. The company did not provide the total number of luxury cars delivered separately.
What is Spinny
Spinny is a used-car retail platform founded in 2015 by Niraj Singh, Ram Prakash and Mohit Jain. The Gurugram-based company operates an online and physical retail model, allowing customers to browse, inspect, buy and sell pre-owned vehicles through its platform and physical hubs.
Company has built its business around direct retailing of used cars, with services covering vehicle inspection, financing, insurance and related ownership processes. Spinny Max caters to the luxury used-car segment.
The Navratri figures provide a snapshot of festive demand on a single day rather than a broader measure of the used-car market. The 1,370 deliveries nevertheless mark the highest one-day volume recorded by Spinny since its operations began.
