Major software giant Adobe has acquired Indian AI automation startup Rilo less than a year after it began operations, marking the company as making its second known acquisition of an Indian startup. Financial details of the deal are not disclosed.
The acquisition gives Adobe access to Rilo’s AI workflow technology and team. Founded in September 2025 by IIT Bombay alumni Dhruv Jaglan and Georgi Boby, Rilo focused on making complex business tasks easier to automate through simple instructions.
Adobe AI Strategy
Rilo initially developed an AI-powered workflow platform that allowed users to create and run complex workflows by explaining their requirements in plain English. The system was designed to be accessible even to people without a technical background.
The startup later developed the platform into what it called “AI employees” for marketing and go-to-market teams. These AI agents could perform several tasks across different software tools, including competitor research, prospecting, LinkedIn outreach, Reddit marketing, social media content and campaign research.
Rilo Gains Users Quickly
Rilo reportedly crossed 10,000 users within a few months of launching. The startup also raised funding from Peak XV Partners and Z47/DeVC at a reported valuation of $10 million.
Quick acquisition comes less than a year after Rilo began operations and adds to Adobe’s growing interest in artificial intelligence, especially technology that automates work rather than only generating content.
Rilo deal is the second known acquisition of an Indian startup by Adobe. In 2023, Adobe acquired Rephrase.ai, an Indian AI video startup, expanding its strength in AI based video creation.
Latest transaction highlights continued interest in Indian AI talent from large global technology companies. India has a rising pool of engineers and startup founders working on AI applications across software, automation, enterprise technology, and creative tools.
About Rilo
Rilo is an AI automation startup founded in Bengaluru by Dhruv Jaglan and Georgi Boby. Its technology focuses on turning simple instructions into automated workflows that can carry out multiple business tasks.
Platform goes beyond basic chatbot style interactions by linking AI agents with different tools and services. Its marketing focused AI employees are built to handle repetitive research, outreach, and content work, giving teams more time for higher value activities.
We have started in a small room. Less than a year later, Rilo is joining Adobe as its second acquisition from India.— Rahul Parmar, Founding Member, Rilo
Founding team brings experience across artificial intelligence, software, and robotics. Jaglan earlier co founded AI recruitment platform Babblebots.ai, while Boby worked as technology lead at cooking robotics company CloudChef.
Wider Rilo team includes several IIT Bombay computer science graduates. Among them is Bhavesh Dhingra, who secured All India Rank 2 in JEE Advanced in 2016.
Team Joins Adobe
Rahul Parmar, a member of the Rilo founding team, confirmed the acquisition through a LinkedIn post. “Started in a small room. Less than a year later, Rilo is joining Adobe as its second acquisition from India,” Parmar wrote.
He described the startup journey as a period of late nights, experiments and rapid product development. Parmar also said Rilo gave him the opportunity to experiment, make mistakes, take ownership and build products used by real customers.
Rilo investors have also welcomed the acquisition. Rahul Gupta, Managing Partner at Day Zero Ventures, which invested in the startup, says the company’s workflow builder was ahead of its time.
“We’re very excited that Rilo has been acquired by Adobe in such a short span of time,” Gupta said. He added that the technology could support better customer experience and productivity.
AI Business Workflows
Rilo acquisition comes as major AI companies put stronger focus on automating marketing and business operations. AI firms are building systems that can research markets, create content, find prospects, and carry out tasks usually managed by sales and marketing teams.
Adobe can use Rilo technology and talent to strengthen its own work on AI agents. Such systems could help enterprise users automate more complex workflows across multiple applications instead of using AI only for single tasks.
For Rilo, acquisition closes its first startup chapter in a short span. For Adobe, deal adds another Indian AI team as the company continues building products around automation, enterprise productivity, and AI based workflows.
