Bandhan Bank Appoints Ratan Kumar Kesh as Interim MD

Bandhan Bank has appointed Ratan Kumar Kesh, the executive director and chief operating officer, as the interim Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the private bank. His term will begin on July 10, following the retirement of the current MD and CEO on July 9.

Appointment Details

In a regulatory filing on Saturday, Bandhan Bank announced that Kesh will serve as interim MD & CEO for three months or until a permanent replacement is found, whichever comes first. The appointment has been approved by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and recommended by the bank’s nomination and remuneration committee and board of directors.

Approval and Qualifications

The filing confirmed that Kesh is not barred or disqualified from serving as a director by any order from the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) or any other authority. His appointment is also pending approval from the bank’s shareholders.

Professional Background

Kesh has been with Bandhan Bank as executive director and chief operating officer since March 2023. He has extensive experience in the banking industry, having previously worked with ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Yes Bank, and Axis Bank.
