Bengaluru-based identity and access management startup OTPless has appointed former BharatPe technology executive Geetanshu Singla as its chief technology officer, adding a senior technology leader as the company expands its authentication products.
Singla will oversee engineering, product development, platform architecture, reliability and security at OTPless. His remit will include products such as Silent Network Authentication, WhatsApp authentication, device intelligence and passkeys.
The appointment also brings Singla back into a working relationship with OTPless co-founders Satyam Nathani and Tanmay Sagar. The three had worked together during the early years of BharatPe, where Singla was Vice President of Technology.
New Technology Role
Before joining OTPless, Singla co-founded Genwise, a technology startup focused on products and services for senior citizens. Genwise ceased operations in December 2025.
Announcing his move on LinkedIn, Singla referred to his previous association with Nathani and Sagar and described the appointment as a return to working with former colleagues. He wrote, “In many ways, it feels like coming back home.”
Singla also pointed to a broader shift in OTPless from OTP-based authentication towards identity and trust infrastructure for internet businesses. The company is developing alternatives to conventional SMS-based verification and password-led login systems.
OTPless Senior Team
The CTO appointment follows several changes in the senior management team at OTPless. On September 18, 2026, co-founder Satyam Nathani was elevated to CEO, while co-founder Tanmay Sagar took charge as COO.
The changes followed Bhavik Koladiya stepping down as CEO. OTPless subsequently appointed Manas Poddar, an early member of the team, as Chief Business Officer on October 1.
Poddar is responsible for revenue, enterprise sales and strategic partnerships. The changes put the company founders in key operating roles while adding leadership across technology and business functions.
Authentication Business
OTPless provides authentication and identity infrastructure through software development kits and application programming interfaces. Its products allow businesses to verify users through mobile networks, messaging platforms, device information and passkeys.
The company is positioning these tools as alternatives to traditional SMS-based OTP systems. Its technology is aimed at reducing dependence on one-time passwords while helping online businesses verify users and identify potentially risky activity.
In a LinkedIn post, Sagar said authentication reliability matters for large consumer internet platforms because login failures can affect customer retention. “A failed or slow authentication is a lost customer,” he said, adding that Singla brings experience of running technology at large scale.
What is OTPless
OTPless was founded by Satyam Nathani and Tanmay Sagar and operates from Bengaluru. The startup provides identity and authentication technology to internet businesses through APIs and SDKs rather than serving consumers directly as a standalone login platform.
Its product suite covers network-based authentication, WhatsApp verification, device intelligence and passkeys. The company says its systems authenticate more than 300 million users across consumer platforms, with clients including Meesho, Zepto, Navi, PhysicsWallah, ShareChat, Shiprocket and ixigo.
The business model is built around providing authentication infrastructure to companies that need to verify users during registration, login and other digital transactions. Its stated focus is to provide multiple verification methods as businesses move beyond conventional SMS OTPs.
OTPless Identity Stack
The appointment of Singla comes as OTPless broadens the technology it offers beyond a single authentication method. The company is working across network authentication, messaging, device-level signals and passkeys as part of its wider identity platform.
For Singla, the role covers both the underlying technology and the reliability of products used by online businesses. His previous experience at BharatPe and the subsequent Genwise venture gives him experience across technology leadership and startup building.
The latest leadership changes also mark a new phase for OTPless, with its co-founders taking direct responsibility for CEO and COO functions and additional executives handling technology and business operations.
