Chennai-based home elevator startup Odyssey Elevators has opened its new Corporate Headquarters and Elevator Experience Centre in Thiruvanmiyur, Chennai. The new facility comes as the company expands its team and presence across multiple states.
Odyssey said the new centre will give homeowners, architects, developers and business partners an opportunity to experience its elevator products directly. Visitors can assess ride quality, technology, materials, finishes, safety features and available customisation options.
The company was founded in late 2025 and has grown from an initial team of five employees to nearly 100 professionals within a few months. It is also expanding its operations across different parts of India, targeting the premium home elevator segment.
Odyssey Presence
Odyssey is led by Founder Directors Raamkumar, Ramachandran and Thanumalaya Perumal, who together bring more than two decades of experience in the elevator industry. The company says its product and business approach focuses on safety, engineering, design and customer experience.
The startup offers home elevators manufactured in Europe, combining European engineering with contemporary designs and technology. Its product range is aimed at modern homes where elevator design, space use and customisation are important considerations.
A key part of the product range is its circular electric home elevator design, which Odyssey describes as India first. The company positions the design as a combination of architectural appearance and space-efficient engineering for premium residential projects.
Experience Centre
Newly opened Experience Centre is designed as a physical product showcase rather than only an office facility. Customers and industry professionals can use the centre to understand how different elevator models operate and compare materials and finishes.
Facility also allows visitors to examine safety systems and customisation choices before making a purchase decision. For architects and developers, such a centre can also provide a way to assess how home elevators fit into residential design and construction plans.
Speaking at the inauguration, Founder Directors Thanumalaya Perumal and Raamkumar said, "Growing from five people to nearly 100 in such a short period has reinforced our conviction in what we are building. But for us, this is only the beginning."
Global Markets Target
Startup founders said Odyssey plans to develop an Indian-born global brand in premium home mobility. They said the company aims to build recognition around design, engineering, safety and customer experience while expanding beyond the domestic market.
"This new headquarters is more than a larger office. It is the launchpad for Odyssey's next chapter - building stronger in India and preparing to take the brand to international markets," the founders said.
Company plans to continue expanding its team and geographic presence in India while preparing for international markets. Its growth will depend on its ability to scale operations while maintaining product quality and safety standards in the premium home elevator segment.
Top Lift Companies in India
Indian elevator market includes established global and domestic players serving residential, commercial and infrastructure projects. Major names include KONE, Otis, Schindler, Johnson Lifts and Mitsubishi Electric, which operate across different segments of the elevator and vertical mobility market.
Odyssey is entering this broader market with a more focused approach towards premium home elevators. Its European-manufactured products, emphasis on design and customisation, and plans for international expansion are part of its strategy to build a distinct position in the residential mobility segment.
Founded in Chennai in late 2025, Odyssey remains a young company, but its rapid increase in employee strength and expanding geographical footprint indicate an early push to establish itself in the premium home elevator market. The new headquarters and experience centre are expected to support its customer engagement and expansion plans.
