House of Student Secures $2 Million Seed Capital

House of Student Funding

Global student accommodation technology platform House of Student has secured $2 million in a seed funding round. The funding was structured through a combination of equity and debt instruments.

This fundraise was co led by investment entity Saltwater Sutra and early-stage firm Nirmitsu Inspirational Ventures. Individual angel investors including Gautam Verlekar, Glen Fernandes, Richard McCallum, and Ali Moosa participated in the transaction alongside early backer Unilodgers.

Funds Deployment

The capital infusion is earmarked to drive underlying product engineering, broaden the global housing network, expand artificial intelligence framework, and support cross border growth vectors.

Founded in February last year by serial entrepreneur Vaibhav Verma, the Gurugram and US based enterprise operates an end-to-end software solution for student room bookings and property management across key international education hubs. Verma previously established Unilodgers, an early student accommodation platform that attained a valuation of $109 million during its initial institutional funding phase.

"We never started with the ambition of building a simple housing aggregator," stated Vaibhav Verma, founder of House of Student, while commenting on the strategic trajectory. "Student housing was the primary operational challenge to address first. The broader objective remains building a global platform focused on student support infrastructure."

Who Competes Where

Startup reports inventory access to over 2.5 million verified student bed spaces across more than 25 countries, including major destinations such as the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Singapore, the UAE, and 18 European nations.

Venture competes in a fragmented global cross border housing ecosystem alongside funded market operators such as Uhomes, Amber, and Uniplaces.

Global mobility market for higher education continues to see demand for digitized housing aggregation as international student intake figures recover across tier one study markets. House of Student aims to leverage its supply partnerships to integrate automated student lifecycle services, moving beyond transaction management into comprehensive operational support.
