Blue Cloud Softech Solutions has been confirmed as an Industry Partner for the IndiaAI Centre of Excellence (AI-CoE) being developed in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. The partnership brings the Hyderabad-based technology company into a government-backed initiative focused on applied artificial intelligence, startup incubation and capacity building.
The Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) issued the confirmation after receiving in-principle approval from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). Blue Cloud will now have to sign a definitive Memorandum of Understanding with STPI to formally complete the partnership.
Under the proposed arrangement, Blue Cloud will contribute Rs 4 crore towards development of the AI-CoE. Along with financial support, the company will provide industry leadership, mentorship and strategic guidance to AI startups that are incubated at the centre.
Blue Cloud Backs AI Centre
The company plans to bring some of its existing technology platforms into the AI-CoE ecosystem. These include BluHealth, which is focused on non-invasive vital screening, along with Blura SAGA and SOCEYE for public safety applications.
Blue Cloud also plans to support the centre through Access Genie, its platform focused on sovereign AI infrastructure. The company said its engineering teams and customer network could also be made available to startups working from the facility.
The proposed support is intended to help early-stage companies test and deploy their AI solutions beyond the incubation stage. Blue Cloud expects the network to help startups take suitable products to customers in India as well as overseas markets.
AI Centre Targets Key Sectors
Bhubaneswar AI-CoE is being planned as a platform for applied AI development, startup incubation and skill building. STPI has earmarked around 10,000 square feet of built-up space for the facility.
Centre will focus on areas where AI can be applied to public and industrial problems. Healthcare, governance, disaster management, education and industrial applications are among the priority sectors identified for the facility.
Tejesh Kumar Kodali, Group Chairman of Blue Cloud Softech, said the partnership fits with the company focus on sovereign AI platforms for public safety and healthcare. Vinod Babu Bollikonda, Managing Director and Group CEO, said the centre builds on work being carried out under the IndiaAI Mission.
Blue Cloud Reports Growth
The partnership comes as Blue Cloud reports growth in both revenue and profitability. Consolidated revenue rose 26% year-on-year to Rs 1,002 crore in FY26, while profit after tax increased 37% to Rs 60.50 crore.
Company also reported a 41.9% year-on-year rise in revenue to Rs 292.53 crore during Q1FY27. EBITDA margin in the quarter stood at 20.4%, indicating an improvement in operating profitability.
Against this financial backdrop, the Rs 4 crore contribution represents about 0.4% of the FY26 consolidated revenue reported by Blue Cloud. The amount is relatively small compared with the scale of its business, although the strategic value of the partnership will depend on how effectively the centre and participating startups use the technology and industry support.
Tech Startups in Odisha
Odisha has been developing its technology startup base around Bhubaneswar, with support from government-backed incubation, innovation and technology programmes. The state has also focused on areas such as IT, electronics, artificial intelligence and emerging technologies as part of its wider effort to attract technology businesses and create startup opportunities.
Development of an AI-focused centre in Bhubaneswar could add another layer to this ecosystem by giving startups access to infrastructure, technical expertise and industry mentorship. Its location in the state capital also puts the facility close to the existing technology and institutional network in Odisha.
Partnership Expands AI Reach
For Blue Cloud, the partnership provides an opportunity to participate in a government-led AI infrastructure initiative without requiring a large capital commitment relative to its existing revenue base. More importantly, it allows the company to bring its technology platforms and industry experience into an ecosystem aimed at developing new AI applications.
The next step will be the signing of the definitive MoU with STPI. Once formalised, Blue Cloud will begin its role as an industry partner and support startups working across the priority areas identified for the Bhubaneswar centre.
