UAE has introduced a new five-year multiple-entry Dubai visa for Indians to enhance travel between India and the Gulf nation, according to the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET). In 2023, Dubai saw a surge in Indian overnight visitors, reaching 2.46 million, marking a 25 percent increase from pre-pandemic levels, DET reported.
Middle East nation’s city hosted 1.84 million tourists from India in the previous year, compared to 1.97 million visitors in 2019, indicating steady growth. The introduction of this five-year Dubai visa for Indians aims to boost travel between India and Dubai, fostering economic collaborations and promoting tourism and business ties, DET noted.
Visa issued within 2-5 working days, allows a 90-day stay extendable once, with a total stay not exceeding 180 days in a year. Tourists can benefit from multiple entries and exits, providing flexibility for business engagements and leisure travel, DET highlighted.
Bader Ali Habib, Regional Head of Proximity Markets at Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, expressed optimism about the initiative’s impact on tourism and economic collaboration with India. With Dubai welcoming 17.15 million international overnight visitors in 2023, a 19.4 per cent increase from the previous year, DET data underlines Dubai’s popularity as a tourist destination.
