Indian Hotels Company Ltd (IHCL) has announced the signing of a new 120-room SeleQtions hotel located on East Coast Road (ECR) in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The hotel will be part of a larger eco-friendly development spread across 30 acres.
This marks the introduction of the first SeleQtions hotel in Chennai, as part of IHCL’s expanding portfolio. The project is set to cater to both leisure and business travelers, offering modern amenities while being in harmony with the natural environment.
Expansion in Chennai and Tamil Nadu
IHCL has a multi-brand presence in Chennai, with 14 hotels already operating in the city. These include luxury hotels, business hotels, and leisure resorts located across different parts of the city, from central business districts to emerging areas. The addition of the SeleQtions hotel on ECR is a strategic move aimed at capturing the growing travel demand in this region.

She added that the hotel’s eco-friendly design and conference facilities will make it a popular choice for business and leisure travelers alike.
Focus on Sustainability and MICE Facilities
The new hotel will not only be eco-friendly but will also include MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) facilities, which are increasingly in demand. Located strategically on ECR, the property will attract both domestic and international travelers who frequent this popular tourist route.
IHCL is partnering with GT Bharathi Urban Developers for the project. The collaboration is expected to enhance the hotel’s design and sustainability features, in line with IHCL’s focus on eco-friendly developments.
IHCL’s Growing Presence in Tamil Nadu
With this new project, IHCL will have 22 hotels in Tamil Nadu, including six hotels under development. The company continues to expand its reach across the state, providing a wide range of accommodation options for travelers.
