IHCL Expands Portfolio to 380 Hotels Across 150 Locations

Indian Hotels Company Limited, also known as IHCL and a part of the Tata Group, has reached a major milestone in the hospitality sector by expanding its hotel portfolio to 380 properties in the financial year 2025. With this growth, IHCL has further strengthened its position as India’s largest hospitality company by market capitalisation.

During the fiscal year, IHCL made a bold expansion by entering 100 new locations across India and abroad. This development reflects the company’s steady focus on growth and market leadership. The Executive Vice President of Real Estate and Development, Suma Venkatesh, shared that IHCL signed a record-breaking 74 hotels in FY25, resulting in a strong pipeline of 137 properties under development. The demand for quality hospitality and the strength of IHCL’s diverse brands helped achieve this landmark.

IHCL Opens 26 New Hotels Led by Ginger Brand

According to Deepika Rao, Executive Vice President – Hotel Openings and New Businesses, IHCL successfully launched 26 new hotels in the last year. The Ginger brand took the lead by opening 9 hotels across a variety of locations. These include busy business cities like Nagpur and Coimbatore, important industrial towns such as Jamshedpur, and popular tourist spots including Srinagar, Udaipur, and Diu. Ginger also opened hotels in key state capitals like New Delhi and Goa, showing its ability to serve both business and leisure travellers.

IHCL was founded by Jamsetji Tata, the visionary founder of the Tata Group. The company began its journey with the opening of the iconic Taj Mahal Palace in Bombay in 1903. Since then, it has become a symbol of luxury and trust in the Indian hospitality industry. Today, IHCL’s portfolio spans 4 continents, 14 countries, and more than 150 locations. The continued expansion reflects the company’s commitment to excellence and growth both within India and internationally.

IHCL Strengthens Its Global Presence

With 137 hotels under development, IHCL is now leading the Indian hospitality sector with the largest development pipeline. These new properties aim to cater to various market segments through brands such as Taj, Vivanta, SeleQtions, and Ginger. The focus remains on entering new markets, strengthening presence in existing cities, and enhancing guest experiences.

IHCL’s remarkable achievements in FY25 underline its strategic growth plans and market leadership. By opening 26 hotels and expanding into 100 new locations, the company continues to raise industry standards. Its solid performance highlights the growing demand in India’s hospitality sector and IHCL’s ability to deliver on that promise with consistency and innovation.
