Porter, a leading on-demand logistics company in India, has joined the ONDC Network, an Indian government-backed initiative. This move follows significant revenue growth for Porter’s parent company, SmartShift Logistics Solutions Private Limited, in FY24.

Porter was founded in 2014 and has seen consistent growth over the years. For the FY24 financial year, the company reported a 55.87% increase in its revenue, reaching Rs 2,733.79 crore, compared to Rs 1,753.78 crore in the previous year. This remarkable growth highlights Porter’s commitment to providing efficient logistics services across India.

What Porter Offers

Porter operates a vast logistics network with a fleet of over 7.5 lakh drivers across 22 cities in India. This large-scale operation allows Porter to offer hyperlocal delivery services, ensuring orders are fulfilled quickly and reliably. Porter’s goal is to continue improving customer satisfaction through seamless deliveries.

Porter Joins ONDC Network

The ONDC Network is rapidly expanding, handling around 53,000 orders per day in various categories such as food and grocery. By joining this open and decentralized platform, Porter will play a key role in supporting same-day deliveries, especially in the food and grocery sectors.

Expanding Two-Wheeler Services

To meet the growing demand for fast and reliable deliveries, Porter will provide its two-wheeler services across 20 cities in India. This will help speed up deliveries in urban areas, improving efficiency in the Food & Beverage sector. By enhancing its two-wheeler fleet, Porter aims to offer quicker deliveries while maintaining high customer satisfaction.

Abhinav Vadrevu, Vice-President of Two-Wheelers at Porter, shared his excitement about joining the ONDC Network. He emphasized that Porter’s services would become more accessible and reliable for customers across India. He added that leveraging the ONDC’s extensive network would allow Porter to meet the rising demand for hyperlocal deliveries and expand its portfolio to cover a wider range of customer needs.

ONDC Welcomes Porter

T Koshy, Managing Director and CEO of ONDC, highlighted the importance of logistics in the growth of e-commerce. He explained that Porter’s inclusion in the ONDC Network would strengthen the logistics backbone of e-commerce, providing sellers with more reliable options and expanding choices for buyers. This collaboration will contribute to the network’s open and decentralized nature.
