Borzo, a global intracity delivery company, formerly known as WeFast, has announced its entry into the 3-wheeler and truck delivery market. This new service is part of Borzo’s expansion to offer larger deliveries, especially in major cities in India.
The company plans to begin this service in Mumbai and later expand it to Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Pune. By adding 3-wheelers and trucks to its fleet, Borzo aims to provide businesses with the ability to handle bulk and heavy shipments like furniture, repair parts, and large grocery orders.
Targeting Business-to-Business (B2B) Clients
Borzo’s new service focuses on businesses, helping them with more diverse logistics needs. With the introduction of 3-wheelers and trucks, the company will be able to support business-to-business (B2B) clients, especially those needing larger, same-day deliveries. By 2025, Borzo plans to onboard 1,500 couriers using a mix of 3-wheelers and Tata Ace mini-trucks. The goal is to achieve 500 deliveries per day from these vehicles.
Strategy Behind the Expansion
Borzo’s decision to enter the 3-wheeler and truck market is part of a larger strategy to grow its presence in India’s B2B logistics sector. The company aims to provide businesses with affordable, fast, and flexible delivery options. By doing this, Borzo hopes to compete effectively with other delivery services.
CEO Statement on the Expansion
Alina Kisina, CEO of Borzo, explained that this expansion into the larger vehicle market is driven by the increasing demand from businesses for more flexible and cost-effective delivery options. The company believes this move will better meet the evolving needs of businesses looking for versatile delivery solutions.
The new 3-wheeler and truck models will work alongside Borzo’s current delivery system, which uses two-wheeler couriers. These couriers will remain gig workers or part of small fleets, offering flexible working hours.
Sustainability Plans
Initially, the 3-wheelers used will be traditional fuel-powered vehicles. However, Borzo has plans to add electric vehicles (EVs) to its fleet in the future, aiming to improve sustainability and reduce environmental impact.
