Indian traveltech giant OYO, led by Ritesh Agarwal, has announced a $10 million investment in G6 Hospitality, the US-based operator of Motel 6 and Studio 6. This move comes after OYO’s $525 million acquisition of G6 Hospitality from Blackstone Real Estate in an all-cash deal.

With this investment, OYO plans to enhance G6 Hospitality’s digital reach, focusing on improving its website, mobile app, and customer engagement strategies.

Digital Reach of Motel 6 and Studio 6

OYO aims to significantly grow the Motel 6 website and the My6 mobile app, increasing app downloads by four times before the summer travel season. The company will use:

  • Advanced digital targeting strategies to attract high-intent travelers
  • Direct partnerships with Google and Microsoft for better customer engagement
  • Targeted digital marketing campaigns to increase direct bookings

By leveraging AI-driven marketing and digital solutions, OYO wants to strengthen the online presence of G6 Hospitality and reduce reliance on third-party booking platforms.

Expanding G6 Hospitality Hotel Network

In addition to its digital focus, G6 Hospitality plans to add over 150 hotels under its Motel 6 and Studio 6 brands by 2025. Key markets for expansion include:

  • Texas
  • California
  • Georgia
  • Arizona

Shashank Jain, Head of Online Revenue at G6 Hospitality, stated, “This investment reflects our commitment to supporting franchise partners by increasing direct bookings and reducing dependency on third-party platforms.”

Technology Upgrades for Better Hospitality Services

To enhance its technological capabilities, G6 Hospitality recently partnered with HotelKey, a leading hospitality technology provider. This partnership aims to:

  • Improve digital booking and property management systems
  • Enhance customer experience with advanced technology
  • Streamline hotel operations across the US and Canada

With OYO’s expertise in traveltech, G6 Hospitality is set to modernize its operations, offering better services to travelers and increasing revenue for its hotel franchise partners.

Future of OYO in USA

OYO’s $10 million investment in G6 Hospitality marks a strategic step in strengthening its position in the US hospitality market. By focusing on digital growth, app expansion, and technology partnerships, the company aims to boost direct bookings and increase brand visibility for Motel 6 and Studio 6.

This move underscores OYO’s long-term vision of combining travel technology with hotel operations, ensuring smoother experiences for travelers and better business opportunities for hotel owners.
