Global investment firm Carlyle has named Anuj Poddar as the Co-Head of Global Portfolio Solutions (GPS) for Asia, a newly created role focusing on India and Southeast Asia. Based in Mumbai, Poddar will work closely with Carlyle Asia’s investment teams, Vice Chair Janine Feng, and Global Head of GPS Richard Elder to drive performance and transformative change in the firm’s portfolio companies.
Anuj Poddar’s Experience
Anuj Poddar brings over 30 years of leadership and consulting expertise to Carlyle. Before joining the firm, he served as CEO of Bajaj Electricals, where he led significant advancements in the consumer appliances and lighting sector in India. Prior to that, Poddar was part of the senior leadership team at Viacom18 Media, helping the company expand into mass entertainment and international markets.
Poddar is also played a key role in developing strategy for MTV Networks Asia across Southeast Asia and China, while based in Singapore. Earlier in his career, Poddar worked with KPMG and Arthur Andersen, advising companies on consulting, mergers & acquisitions (M&A), and other business services.
