A woman named Niti was allegedly slapped by an Ola auto driver in Bengaluru after she cancelled her ride and took another auto. The incident happened during peak hours, leading to a heated argument. Niti shared her experience on social media, expressing her frustration with the driver’s behavior and Ola’s lack of response.

What Led to the Conflict

Niti explained on X (formerly Twitter) that she and her friend booked two autos to avoid delays. When Niti’s auto arrived first, her friend cancelled her ride. This upset the other auto driver, who followed them and began shouting and abusing them. Despite trying to explain the situation, the driver became more aggressive.

Verbal and Physical Harassment

As the argument escalated, the driver verbally harassed Niti and made derogatory comments. When she began recording the incident, the driver threatened her and tried to snatch her phone. Niti resisted, and the driver slapped her in front of witnesses, including her own auto driver, who remained passive. The driver also threatened to hit her with his slippers.

Police arrested the auto driver responsible for the assault.

Ola’s Disappointing Response

Niti reported the incident through the Ola app, but she only received an automated response. Efforts to reach their support team were unsuccessful, leaving Niti feeling helpless. She expressed her disappointment with Ola’s response, as the company failed to provide immediate assistance.

Social Media Users Reaction

Niti’s video quickly went viral, gaining over 160,000 views. Many people on social media demanded action against the driver, with some calling for his arrest. Ola responded to Niti’s post, requesting details for further investigation. Bengaluru Police also got involved, asking Niti to provide her contact information and location details.

Driver Arrested by Police The police acted swiftly and arrested the auto driver responsible for the assault. The Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) for West Bengaluru shared the update on social media, stating that the driver had been apprehended and legal action was being taken.
