Indusbridge Ventures (IBV), a leading Indian investor specializing in dual-use and defence technologies, has partnered with FedTech, a US-based deep-tech venture builder, to introduce the I2A Launchpad. This program is designed to provide Indian startups with direct access to the US market, offering mentorship, market access, and growth opportunities for dual-use technology companies.
Bridging Indian Startups
The I2A Launchpad aims to connect Indian startups with the dual-use technology ecosystems in the US, promoting innovation and commercializing critical technologies across both nations. The program will provide Indian startups access to the US Government and Commercial Markets, especially in the Department of Defense (DoD) ecosystem, space agencies, and government technology sectors.
The US, with its $800 billion+ defence budget, presents an ideal growth market for Indian startups. Through this partnership, Indian companies will gain unparalleled opportunities to engage with strategic investors, defence primes, and access mentorship to scale successfully in the global market.
International Opportunities
The I2A Launchpad will support 10-15 Indian startups in its first cohort, launching in October 2024. Future cohorts will target critical technology gaps, fostering Indo-US collaborations. By providing access to the US defence market, this initiative will help Indian startups capitalize on their cost-effective technology innovation and manufacturing capabilities. It will also empower US government agencies to benefit from India’s large-scale, low-cost technology solutions.
Mentorship and Support
Participants of the I2A Launchpad will receive expert mentorship from industry leaders, strategic workshops, and access to key networking opportunities. The program is designed to help startups navigate the complexities of the DoD ecosystem, comply with US regulations, and refine their market entry strategies. This support will position Indian startups for success in the US technology and defence sectors.
Leadership Insights
Jake Kramer, Managing Partner of FedTech, expressed excitement about the partnership, stating that the program will help Indian startups scale internationally. He highlighted FedTech’s global expertise, which has helped launch over 400 startups and raised over $2 billion in funding.
Rahul Devjani, Managing Partner of Indusbridge Ventures, emphasized the alignment of the program with India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat mission. He said the initiative would empower Indian startups to develop products for international markets, scaling cross-border revenues and building global, India-centric companies.
