NapTapGo Raises $500K to Expand Pod Hotel Chain in India

Share post:

India’s budget hospitality sector is set for a transformation as NapTapGo, a pod hotel startup, has secured $500K in pre-seed funding from T9L Qube, a prominent venture studio. Inspired by Japan’s capsule hotel concept, NapTapGo aims to provide affordable and convenient stays for solo Travellers, professionals, and religious tourists across India.

NapTapGo will use the investment to scale operations by launching new pod hotels in major cities, IT hubs, and religious destinations. The startup is targeting India’s $20 billion budget hotel market, which is growing at a 13-15% annual rate.

NapTapGo’s compact accommodations provide secure, clean, and cost-effective lodging, making them ideal for Travellers needing short but comfortable stays.

Affordable, Flexible Stays for Modern Travellers

According to co-founders Nitin Malhotra and Himanshu Shukla, NapTapGo caters to frequent Travellers aged 25 to 60 looking for a hassle-free alternative to traditional budget hotels. Each pod includes:

  • A comfortable bed
  • Ventilation and security features
  • Flexible hourly or overnight booking options

T9L Qube’s co-founders Fahad Moti Khan and Gaurav Gaggar see NapTapGo’s pod hotels as a game changer in the hospitality sector. They believe the model addresses growing demand for hygienic and comfortable stays, especially for pilgrims and business Travellers.

80+ Pod Hotel Locations Planned

NapTapGo’s ambitious expansion plan includes launching 80 pod hotel locations in the next five years, aiming to generate revenues of Rs 100 crore. The company is adopting a company-operated franchise model, looking for partners with 3,000-5,000 sq. ft. commercial spaces in high-traffic areas.

In addition to funding, T9L Qube will provide mentorship and business support, covering strategy, branding, fundraising, and product development.

Popularity of Capsule Hotels in India

The pod hotel concept, popular in Japan, is gaining traction in India as Travellers seek compact, well-maintained, and affordable accommodation options. Billionaire Anand Mahindra recently praised the idea, calling it “pretty cool” on social media.

NapTapGo’s founders envision their startup as the preferred choice for flexible, high-quality budget stays. With rising demand and strong investor backing, the company is well-positioned to redefine India’s budget travel landscape.
