Leezu’s Raises Funding to Expand India’s Sexual Wellness Market

Share post:

Leezu’s, one of India’s leading brands in intimacy and pleasure products, has completed a successful pre-seed funding round, securing an undisclosed amount. The investment will help the company expand its innovative product range in India’s sexual wellness market, marking a major milestone in its journey.

Founders and Vision

Founded in 2023, Leezu’s is the brainchild of award-winning sexuality educator Leeza Mangaldas and Bozzil CEO Hanna Strömgren Khan, a renowned brand builder. Their shared mission is to create a pleasure-positive India by challenging the stigma surrounding sexuality and pleasure. Leezu’s offers cutting-edge, locally relevant sexual wellness products and educational resources aimed at promoting a more inclusive and open discussion around sexual wellness.

Best-selling Products

Within its first year, Leezu’s saw an impressive 5x growth thanks to the success of its best-selling products, including the Pyaari massager, Toofan stroker, and Love Jelly personal lubricant. The newly secured funding will be used to accelerate product development, expand the product catalog, and optimize distribution channels, strengthening Leezu’s position in the sexual wellness market.

Founders’ Vision

Co-founder Leeza Mangaldas emphasized her vision for the future of sexual wellness in India. “My goal is to make sex toys and lubricants as widely available and destigmatized as everyday wellness items like toothbrushes or face wash. I hope to encourage more open conversations about pleasure and make sexual wellness inclusive and accessible for all.”

She added, “Our vision is to create a safe and pleasurable environment for all sexual experiences, and this latest investment is a significant step towards that future.”

Strategic Investment

This strategic investment was secured from a group of angel investors who support Leezu’s mission of promoting sexual wellness in India. One investor highlighted the company’s dedication to education and safety, stating that Leeza and Hanna are making a real impact on the conversation around sexual wellness in India.

Co-founder Hanna Strömgren Khan also emphasized the brand’s mission. “We aim to provide the best pleasure products at affordable prices and deliver millions of moments of joy to people across India.”

With this new funding, Leezu’s is poised to further scale up its product range, grow its team, and expand distribution, solidifying its position in the Indian sexual wellness industry.

India’s Sexual Wellness Market

India’s sexual wellness market is experiencing significant growth, driven by increasing awareness and changing attitudes toward sexual health. The market encompasses products like contraceptives, lubricants, and sexual enhancement products.

With growing acceptance of these products among young consumers and a rising focus on health and hygiene, brands are expanding their offerings to meet diverse needs. E-commerce platforms have also contributed to market accessibility, boosting sales. As a result, India’s sexual wellness industry is poised for further expansion in the coming years.
