Bengaluru-based conversational AI startup, CoRover, has secured USD 4 million in a Series A funding round led by Venture Catalysts. This round included several prominent investors such as CanBank Venture Capital Fund (CVCFL), IIM Calcutta Innovation Park, IIIT Delhi iHub Anubhuti Foundation, Cogniphy LLC, Karekeba Ventures, and Lead Angels. This funding follows a prior investment from CVCFL in July 2021.
The latest funding will allow CoRover to further develop its technology, expand its AI team, and accelerate its market strategy. CoRover aims to enhance its B2B, B2B2C, and B2C offerings while exploring new revenue opportunities like subscription models, ad-based revenues, and transaction fees.
Focus on AI-Driven Innovation
CoRover’s co-founders, Ankush Sabharwal and Kunal Bhakhri, expressed their enthusiasm for the funding. They emphasized their mission to advance GenAI-powered conversational AI and improve human-machine interaction. The platform aims to make technology more human-centric, bridging the gap between human and machine communication.
Founded by Ankush Sabharwal, Kunal Bhakhri, and Manav Gandotra, CoRover offers a Chatbot as a Service (CaaS) solution and an AI-based VideoBot platform designed to lower costs, boost revenue, and improve operational efficiency. CoRover’s AI bots can be accessed on websites, apps, WhatsApp, IVR, SMS, Microsoft Teams, and various social media channels. The platform supports over 100 foreign languages and 12 Indian languages, offering text, voice, and video communication formats.
Innovative AI Technology
CoRover has built a composite AI platform, integrating technologies such as AI, machine learning (ML), natural language processing (NLP), augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and Internet of Things (IoT). The platform enables seamless conversational AI interactions across industries. CoRover’s BharatGPT, an indigenous AI model, offers culturally aware, contextually relevant, and responsible AI solutions for businesses.
The company has developed several AI-driven solutions, including BharatGPT, CoroAssist (a GenAI-based copilot for enterprises), eSevak for citizen grievance management, and various AI tools for Indian Railways, IRCTC, NPCI, LIC, DMRC, and SEBI.
Transforming Human-Machine Interaction
Apoorva Ranjan Sharma, Co-founder of Venture Catalysts, commented on CoRover’s potential to transform how businesses engage with customers. He emphasized the increasing demand for natural, effective digital interactions and believes that CoRover’s human-centric approach to conversational AI will have a significant impact across industries such as e-commerce, healthcare, finance, BFSI, education, mobility, and retail.
