ByteEdge Raises $1.5 Million Funding From TRTL Ventures

ByteEdge, a New Delhi-based startup, has raised USD 1.5 million in funding from TRTL Ventures, a Japan-based venture capital firm. Additional investment support also came from Indian and global angel investors. The startup will use the fresh capital to enhance product development and grow its operations in India, which is currently its primary market.

What is ByteEdge?

ByteEdge was founded in 2022 by Kamal Dutta and Akash Gupt to solve a major workplace issue—how companies share important information with their employees. Most of this knowledge is stored in PDF files, Word documents, and PowerPoint presentations. According to Gupt, these formats are not very effective, especially for frontline workers. These employees, who often do not sit at desks, make up nearly 70% of the global workforce. They often skip reading long documents, which leads to confusion and missed information.

To fix this, ByteEdge uses artificial intelligence to turn written company information into short, cinematic, and multilingual videos. This helps workers quickly understand what they need to know in a format that is easy to consume. The goal is to make knowledge transfer smoother and more engaging for all types of employees, especially those on the front lines of businesses.

ByteEdge Works with 30 Companies

ByteEdge is already working with over 30 large companies across different industries such as financial services, pharmaceuticals, FMCG, and ecommerce. Around 80 to 85 percent of its current business comes from clients in India. However, the company sees a big opportunity outside India as well.

The startup is actively expanding into international markets, including the United States and the Middle East. These regions offer strong demand for ByteEdge’s unique service, especially the ability to create local language content in video format. Gupt explained that in the Middle East, there is no platform at scale offering Arabic video-based knowledge transfer, and this gap presents a strong business opportunity.

Fundraising for Global Markets Growth

Looking forward, after recent funding from TRTL Ventures, ByteEdge plans to raise an additional USD 3 million in the next four to five months. These new funds will help the company grow faster in global markets. ByteEdge’s long-term aim is to become the go-to platform for enterprise AI knowledge transfer worldwide.

With strong technology, a growing customer base, and a unique solution to a global problem, ByteEdge is well-positioned to change how companies share and retain important knowledge across their teams.
