Indian spirituality startup Bhagva has raised $1 million in a pre-Series A funding round, with the lead investment coming from Australian investor Pradeep Nain to expand digital pooja services and empower women in India. Other investors also joined in the round, though their names have not been disclosed. The Delhi-based startup plans to use this funding to upgrade its technology systems and make its spiritual services more efficient and user-friendly.
Bhagva was founded in 2022 by Jagriti Motwani with the aim of making spiritual practices more accessible to people through technology. With both mobile and web platforms, Bhagva offers a wide range of services including online and offline pooja bookings, daily Panchang readings, horoscope consultations, and chanting (jaap) services. These services are available to users across India, helping them stay connected to traditional practices in a digital way.
Digital Pooja Services in India Gaining Popularity
Bhagva’s services come at a time when many Indians are turning to tech-based spiritual platforms. Other popular names in this space include Astrotalk, Vama.app, InstaAstro, and AppsForBharat. As demand for these services grows, Bhagva stands out by offering a full-stack platform that focuses not just on spiritual offerings, but also on the user experience.
The startup is investing in a stronger tech foundation to improve how users book rituals and connect with pandits (priests). This is especially important in a market where convenience, speed, and personalization play key roles in user satisfaction. Bhagva aims to deliver all of this while staying rooted in traditional Indian values.
Empowering Women Through Spiritual Entrepreneurship
One of Bhagva’s core missions is to create a positive social impact by involving women and underrepresented communities in its growth. The platform provides vocational training to women in underserved areas, teaching them to create pooja-related products like incense sticks, solar diyas, and handcrafted spiritual items. These products are then offered through the platform, adding a layer of inclusivity and economic opportunity.
Founder Jagriti Motwani emphasized that Bhagva’s journey is about more than just offering digital pooja services. It is also about spiritual empowerment and giving back to the community. By combining digital access with traditional values and social inclusion, Bhagva hopes to create a lasting impact.
With the new funding in place, Bhagva plans to further enhance its technology, reach more users, and strengthen its supply chain. The startup is well-positioned to grow in India’s evolving spiritual-tech space and continue its mission to make spirituality accessible for all.
