BHIM 3.0 App: New Features to Simplify Digital Payments

Share post:

NPCI BHIM Services Limited (NBSL), a subsidiary of the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), has launched BHIM 3.0, the latest version of the Bharat Interface for Money (BHIM) app. This upgrade brings several new features designed to make digital payments easier, faster, and more accessible to people across India. BHIM 3.0 marks the app’s third major update since it was first introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2016. The updated version aims to improve the user experience by supporting more languages, offering advanced money management tools, and enhancing payment efficiency.

Support for 15 Indian Languages

One of the most notable improvements in BHIM 3.0 is the addition of support for over 15 Indian languages. This feature is intended to make digital payments accessible to users from different regions and language backgrounds. With this update, users can switch to their preferred language, making the app easier to navigate.

Another key improvement is the app’s ability to function smoothly in areas with low or unstable internet connectivity. This enhancement ensures that users in remote or rural locations can still make seamless transactions without disruptions, further expanding the app’s reach across the country.

Money Management with New Tools

BHIM 3.0 introduces several tools to help users manage their money more effectively. One of the standout features is the ‘split expenses’ option, which allows users to divide bills with friends and family. Whether it’s splitting the cost of a meal, rent, or a group shopping trip, this feature simplifies shared expenses and reduces payment hassles.

Another useful addition is the ‘Family Mode,’ which helps users manage household expenses. With this feature, family members can be added to the app, and users can monitor shared spending and assign payments accordingly. This makes it easier to keep track of family expenses and manage household budgets.

Analytics for Better Financial Planning

For those looking to plan their finances more efficiently, BHIM 3.0 includes a ‘spends analytics’ dashboard. This tool automatically tracks and categorizes monthly expenses, giving users a clear overview of their spending patterns. By analyzing their expenses, users can identify areas where they can save money without needing additional budgeting apps.

The new version also comes with an ‘Action Needed’ task assistant to help users stay on top of their financial responsibilities. This assistant reminds users about pending bill payments, suggests enabling UPI Lite for faster transactions, and alerts them when their UPI Lite balance is low. These reminders help users avoid missed payments and enhance their overall digital payment experience.

BHIM 3.0 App New Features

BHIM 3.0 isn’t just about individual users. It also includes features aimed at helping merchants. One such feature is ‘BHIM Vega,’ an in-app payment solution for businesses. With BHIM Vega, merchants can accept payments directly within the app, eliminating the need for customers to switch between different platforms. This makes transactions faster, simpler, and more efficient for both businesses and customers.

The rollout of BHIM 3.0 will be done in phases, with full availability expected by April 2025. The new version aims to enhance the digital payment experience for millions of users and businesses across India, making financial transactions more seamless and accessible.

As digital payments continue to grow in popularity, the launch of BHIM 3.0 represents a significant step forward in India’s journey toward a more cashless economy. With improved features, enhanced usability, and expanded language support, BHIM 3.0 is set to make digital payments more convenient than ever before.
