Quick commerce company Zepto has joined hands with the Ministry of Labour & Employment to create fresh job opportunities for young Indians. The collaboration comes through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed in New Delhi in the presence of Union Minister for Labour & Employment and Youth Affairs & Sports, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya.
The MoU aims to enhance employability, connect job-seekers with meaningful roles, and strengthen the National Career Service (NCS) Portal as a one-stop solution for career and employment services across the country.
Zepto Job Opportunities
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Dr. Mandaviya praised the role of the NCS portal in bridging the gap between employers and job-seekers. He highlighted that since its inception, the portal has brought together 52 lakh registered employers and mobilized nearly 7.5 crore job vacancies.
The Union Minister also revealed that NCS will soon be upgraded with Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and other advanced digital features. This will allow job-seekers to receive customized opportunities based on their qualifications, skills, and location preferences.
Focus on Youth and Women
Dr. Mandaviya stressed that the Zepto partnership would open a new window of opportunity for India’s youth. By connecting with NCS, Zepto will now have access to a wide pool of talent, while young people can secure better career opportunities in the growing platform economy.
Secretary of the Ministry of Labour & Employment, Vandana Gurnani, also shared her views. She explained that the MoU would not only create jobs but also boost formalization of employment and expand social security coverage, ensuring stability for gig and full-time workers alike.
Zepto Leadership Vision
Welcoming the partnership, Kaivalya Vohra, Co-founder of Zepto, said, “This collaboration is a big step towards creating a more skilled and inclusive workforce for the new-age economy. By integrating with the NCS portal, we aim to provide thousands of gig and full-time roles to empower India’s youth and contribute to the country’s economic growth.”
Vohra added that the platform would help first-time job seekers, women, and gig workers transition into secure and structured employment while ensuring they also get access to government-backed protection schemes.

Jobs and Formalization
As part of the MoU, Zepto will post 10,000 jobs on the NCS portal during the partnership duration. This will create a structured pipeline of opportunities for those looking for work in India’s urban centers.
The agreement will also link gig workers to the e-Shram portal and social security schemes, creating a clear bridge between flexible work and formal employment. It is expected to help gig workers move towards greater upskilling and employability, offering long-term security and growth.
Past Partnerships Matter
The Ministry of Labour & Employment has actively partnered with other digital platforms over the past year to strengthen employment prospects. Companies like Amazon, Swiggy, Rapido, and Quikr Jobs have already signed MoUs, generating nearly five lakh vacancies on the NCS portal.
With Zepto joining this growing list of partners, the government is further consolidating its vision of bringing digital platforms and job-seekers together under one ecosystem, ensuring sustainable employment opportunities for India’s workforce.
