A priest of the Jagannath Temple in Puri has announced plans to develop a 300-room luxury resort with a strong spiritual focus. The Rs 200 crore project aims to blend modern hospitality with traditional spirituality, offering a pure vegetarian and non-liquor retreat for pilgrims and travellers.
Jagannatham: Spiritual Luxury Resort in Puri
Named ‘Jagannatham’, the resort is designed to provide a satvik experience, focusing on peace, wellness, and divinity. It will be located along the Puri-Konark marine drive, around 8 km from the Jagannath Temple. The project is being developed by Meridian Mist Hotel & Resort and is expected to be completed before Rath Yatra 2026.
The construction cost is estimated at Rs 110 crore, excluding land. Sevayat Daitapati Bhabani Das, the priest leading the project, clarified that the land belongs to him and has no connection with the Jagannath Temple administration.

The seven-acre beachfront property will feature:
- Studio and deluxe cottages with a peaceful ambiance

- An amphitheater for cultural and spiritual events

Exclusive Membership Plans
To attract visitors, the resort is offering a membership program with three pricing options:
- Rs 3.5 lakh, Rs 5 lakh, and Rs 7 lakh
- Members will receive a three-night stay per month for five years
- Aimed at 5,000 members in the initial phase
