Goa’s Tourism Minister, Rohan Khaunte, has launched OYO’s Accelerator Program to support first-generation hoteliers in expanding their businesses in the coastal state. The initiative aims to provide mentorship, financial assistance, and access to technology for small and medium-sized hotel owners.
The launch event saw the participation of OYO’s Chief Operating Officer, Varun Jain, alongside Minister Khaunte. During the event, Rs 25 lakh was distributed among five beneficiaries of the Accelerator Program. This financial support is part of a larger plan to empower local hoteliers and boost tourism in Goa.
OYO Expansion Plans in Goa
As part of the initiative, OYO plans to add over 500 hotels across north, central, and south Goa. This expansion is expected to create more than 5,000 jobs in the state within the next year. By partnering with the Goa Tourism Department, OYO aims to enhance the hospitality sector and attract more tourists.
The Accelerator Program is designed to help first-time hoteliers grow their businesses. Participants will receive mentorship, access to OYO’s advanced technology, dedicated relationship managers, and financial assistance. This support will enable hoteliers to explore new markets, attract more customers, and increase their revenue.
OYO’s extensive network, including over 15,000 corporate accounts and more than 10,000 travel agents across India, will be leveraged to provide additional business opportunities for the program’s participants.

Focus on Sustainable Tourism
Speaking at the event, Minister Khaunte emphasized the importance of sustainable tourism. He highlighted how the Accelerator Program aligns with Goa’s vision of promoting responsible tourism while preserving the state’s unique culture and heritage.
“This initiative provides small and mid-sized businesses with the tools they need to grow while ensuring Goa remains a top global travel destination,” said Khaunte.
OYO Commitment to Goa
Varun Jain, OYO’s Chief Operating Officer, expressed excitement about collaborating with Goa’s hoteliers. He mentioned that the program has already delivered successful results in other states and is confident of its positive impact in Goa.
“We are committed to helping aspiring hoteliers in Goa unlock their business potential and contribute to the state’s thriving tourism industry,” Jain added.
The OYO Accelerator Program is set to transform Goa’s hospitality sector by empowering local hoteliers and creating new opportunities for growth. This initiative not only supports small businesses but also contributes to the overall development of tourism in the state.
