Ather Energy, a leading electric scooter manufacturer, has partnered with the Tata Indian Institute of Skills (IIS) to offer specialized training programs in the electric vehicle (EV) sector. This collaboration aims to develop a skilled workforce to meet the growing demands of India’s EV market.

Addressing the Skill Gap

The rapid growth of India’s EV sector is fueled by technological advancements and increasing consumer adoption. However, there is a significant skill gap, with a shortage of technicians trained specifically in electric vehicle systems and battery technologies. The partnership between Ather Energy and Tata IIS aims to address this gap by offering comprehensive training that includes both technical knowledge and practical experience.

Training Program Details

Ather Energy will create programs that provide trainees with technical knowledge in battery systems, electric motors, power electronics, charging infrastructure, and vehicle safety. The training will also include practical experience in EV maintenance, repair, and diagnostics, along with essential soft skills like communication, teamwork, and problem-solving.

To support these programs, Ather Energy will supply vehicles, motors, batteries, and other essential hardware to establish EV labs at Tata IIS facilities across India. Additionally, Ather Energy will train Tata IIS instructors at its manufacturing plants and R&D labs, ensuring the course content remains up-to-date with industry trends and technological advancements.
