Tata Technologies Signs Rs 95.65 Crore Deal with Tripura

Share post:

Tata Technologies has signed a deal worth Rs 95.65 crore with the Tripura government to upgrade 19 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in the state. This agreement, which was made official through a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA), will improve the quality of technical education in Tripura and help create more skilled workers.

Project Details

The partnership between Tata Technologies and the Department of Industries and Commerce in Tripura aims to modernize education at these ITIs. This will be a five-year project that will be completed in two phases. The project will introduce six new long-term trades and 23 short-term courses to meet the growing needs of the job market.

The new courses are designed to prepare students with skills that are in demand in today’s industries. The courses will be implemented gradually, following a structured schedule to fit seamlessly with the existing educational framework.

Infrastructure Development

Along with updating courses, the project will also include the development of new infrastructure. The Tripura government plans to build 13,500 square feet of new facilities at each ITI to provide better training environments for students. This will ensure that students have access to modern equipment and learning spaces that support their training.

The project will be carried out over an initial period of five years and nine months. However, the agreement has a provision to extend the project for up to five additional years, depending on the project’s progress and updated costs.

Improving Employability

The goal of this project is to improve the employability of young people in Tripura. By upgrading the ITIs and offering modern training programs, the government hopes to create a skilled workforce that can meet the demands of the growing job market. Officials believe that these improvements will make Tripura a center of technical excellence in the Northeastern region of India.

In conclusion, the collaboration between Tata Technologies and the Tripura government aims to boost technical education, improve job readiness, and contribute to the state’s economic growth.
