SpiceJet announced on Thursday that it will use a wide-body Airbus A340 plane for its daily Delhi-Bangkok flights for a limited period. This change aims to accommodate the high demand during the holiday season.
Increased Capacity for Holiday Travelers
The deployment of SpiceJet A340 will significantly increase seating capacity on the Delhi-Bangkok route. The aircraft can accommodate 324 passengers per flight, which is a considerable upgrade compared to the narrow-body Boeing 737 currently used on this route. The enhanced service is set to start on May 31 and will continue until June 20, 2024.
Temporary Upgrade to Meet Demand
“This enhancement will increase the seating capacity to 324 passengers per flight on the route, catering to the high demand during the holiday season,” SpiceJet said in a release. By switching to the A340, SpiceJet aims to better serve travelers looking to visit Bangkok during this busy travel period.
Current Operations on Delhi-Bangkok Route
As of now, SpiceJet operates the Delhi-Bangkok route using a Boeing 737, a narrow-body plane with fewer seats. The temporary switch to the A340 is a strategic move to handle the expected surge in passengers during the specified period.
SpiceJet’s decision to use the A340 for the Delhi-Bangkok flights from May 31 to June 20, 2024, reflects the airline’s commitment to meeting passenger needs during peak travel times. With the increased capacity, more travelers will be able to fly this popular route, enjoying the enhanced comfort and service that the wide-body A340 offers.
