New Leadership: Yum! Brands Appoints Rohan Pewekar as Pizza Hut India MD

Pizza Hut, is part of Yum! Brands from the US, has announced that Rohan Pewekar is the new MD (Managing Director) for Pizza Hut in India and the Indian subcontinent. He takes over from Merrill Pereyra and will be based in Gurgaon. Rohan will oversee operations in India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives as Pizza Hut prepares for its next phase of growth in these regions.

Rohan Pewekar’s Background

Rohan is an alumnus of IIM Calcutta and The Wharton School. He has been with Pizza Hut for more than four years, previously serving as the Chief Strategy and Finance Officer. His experience in strategy and finance positions him well to lead the brand into its new phase.

Pizza Hut’s Growth Plans

In a recent statement, Rohan expressed excitement about the brand’s growth, noting that Pizza Hut now has nearly 900 restaurants across over 200 cities in India. He emphasized that the company is not just looking to expand but also to reinvent the dining experience. This includes forming bold partnerships, launching innovative products, and engaging marketing strategies that resonate with younger customers.

Previous Experience

Before joining Pizza Hut, Rohan Pewekar worked at Samsung Electronics India and Accenture Strategy Consulting. His diverse background in technology and consulting has provided him with valuable insights into business strategy and operations.

Rohan Pewekar’s appointment comes at an exciting time for Pizza Hut as it looks to expand its reach and innovate in the Indian food market. His leadership is expected to drive the brand forward and enhance its presence in the region.
