This move allows buyers in India to purchase Pixel phones, smartwatches, earbuds, and accessories straight from Google for the first time. Until now, Indian consumers had to rely on third-party retailers or e-commerce sites.
This launch adds to Google’s existing retail setup, which already includes several online and offline partners. The company says that by offering direct purchases, it aims to provide more options for customers. The online store will offer the full range of Pixel devices along with accessories, giving users better access to Google’s product ecosystem.
Google Starts Direct Sales
Mitul Shah, Managing Director of Devices and Services at Google India, said the decision was motivated by India’s fast-growing and changing smartphone market. He emphasized that Google wants to meet Indian users wherever they are—whether that’s online or offline. Shah also mentioned that Google will continue to invest in improving customer support, expanding retail reach, and providing attractive pricing and financing options.
While the online store has now launched, Shah did not confirm when Google might open its own physical retail stores in India. He added that India remains one of Google’s most important markets, especially as it rolls out AI-powered devices.
Focuses On AI Devices
Google is aiming to deliver next-generation AI features through its Pixel products, and sees India as a key part of this strategy. The direct-to-consumer approach via the online Google Store is expected to make it easier for Indian customers to access the latest technology.
