Bengaluru-based electric vehicle (EV) company Ola Electric has appointed Pritam Das Mohapatra as its new company secretary and compliance officer. The announcement was made on December 30, 2024, following approval from the board of directors on the same day. Mohapatra takes over the role two months after the resignation of the previous compliance officer.

Ola Electric’s founder and CEO, Bhavish Aggarwal, welcomed Mohapatra to the team, emphasizing the importance of strong corporate governance as the company continues its rapid growth in the EV market. The appointment signals Ola Electric’s commitment to maintaining high compliance and regulatory standards.

Pritam Das Expertise

Mohapatra brings over 14 years of experience in corporate law, regulatory compliance, fundraising, and corporate governance. He is an associate member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India and holds a law degree and a bachelor’s degree in commerce.

Before joining Ola Electric, Mohapatra held key positions at companies such as Merabo Labs Private Limited, ANI Technologies Private Limited, Ola Fleet Technologies Private Limited, and Zuari InfraWorld India Limited. His independent background ensures a neutral and professional approach to his responsibilities.

Focus on Compliance

As company secretary and compliance officer, Mohapatra will oversee Ola Electric’s adherence to regulations set by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and other governing bodies. His expertise in corporate governance and IPO processes is expected to strengthen the company’s compliance framework and support its plans for future growth.

Ola Electric stated that Mohapatra’s appointment complies with all relevant guidelines, reflecting the board’s dedication to transparency and ethical practices.

Recent Leadership Changes

Ola Electric has undergone several leadership transitions in recent weeks. Chief Marketing Officer Anshul Khandelwal and Chief Technology and Product Officer Suvonil Chatterjee recently stepped down from their positions.

Despite these changes, the company remains focused on building a strong leadership team to drive its long-term vision. Mohapatra’s appointment is seen as a step toward reinforcing Ola Electric’s commitment to transparency and corporate responsibility.

Ola Electric Growth Journey

As a leading player in India’s electric mobility sector, Ola Electric continues to innovate and expand its market presence. With the addition of experienced leaders like Mohapatra, the company is poised to strengthen its compliance standards while driving advancements in sustainable transportation.
