LISSUN Buys Being Cares to Bring AI Mental Health Support

Indian mental health platform LISSUN has acquired US-based mental wellness company Being Cares to bring artificial intelligence into family-focused mental healthcare. This move combines LISSUN’s therapist-led care with Being Cares’ AI model, aiming to make mental health support smarter and more accessible.

Being Cares supports around one million global users by tracking over 40 mental health conditions like anxiety, depression, burnout, and stress linked to parenting. Its AI system analyses more than 2,500 causes and effects to offer personalised insights.

LISSUN AI Mental Health Support

LISSUN plans to adapt Being Cares’ AI to address child-centric issues, including autism, ADHD, speech delays, and learning challenges. This strengthens its child-focused unit, Sunshine by LISSUN, which started in June 2023 and has already delivered over 30,000 therapy hours to help more than 10,000 children across 20 centres.

As part of the deal, Being Cares’ co-founders Varun Gandhi and Abhishek Sharma will join LISSUN as Chief Product Officer and Chief Technology Officer, bringing their AI expertise to develop new tools.

Builds New Model

“This is not just an acquisition. It’s about rethinking mental healthcare for whole families,” said Tarun Gupta, Co-founder of LISSUN. “By combining Being’s AI with our clinical team, we can guide families from the first sign of concern to in-person care when needed.”

LISSUN, founded in 2021 by Krishna Veer Singh and Tarun Gupta, works across psychiatry, rehabilitation, infertility support, maternity care, and child development. Its hybrid model blends digital guidance with offline therapy to meet diverse mental health needs.

Plans for Growth

Looking ahead, LISSUN plans to grow its Sunshine network to over 200 centres within two to four years. The company also wants to launch its AI assistant Ray on platforms like WhatsApp, providing real-time, personalised help for parents managing their child’s mental health journey.

Varun Gandhi, Co-founder of Being Cares, shared, “Joining LISSUN felt like coming home. Together, we can build an AI assistant families trust, backed by real therapists and shared values.”

Stays Open to Collaboration

LISSUN said this acquisition is just one step toward a bigger vision. The firm remains open to teaming up with other early-stage mental health startups working on creative and innovative solutions.

With this strategic move, LISSUN aims to lead AI mental health support, making mental care more accessible, family-focused, and future-ready.
