Cricket is more than a sport in India—it’s an emotion that brings millions of people together. After celebrating India’s victory in the ICC Champions Trophy, the nation has now shifted its attention to the excitement of IPL 2025. Adding to the thrill of this season, Birla Opus Paints, part of Grasim Industries under the Aditya Birla Group, has partnered with JioHotstar to become a key partner of TATA IPL 2025. As part of this collaboration, Birla Opus Paints has launched a creative and unique campaign called the Indian Colours League, designed to capture the vibrant spirit of IPL while promoting the brand’s philosophy, Duniya Ko Rang Do (Colour the World).

Celebrating Colours, Rivalry, and Camaraderie

In every IPL match, two franchise teams compete fiercely on the field, each with its iconic team colours. Through the Indian Colours League, Birla Opus Paints aims to show that colours, like cricket, can tell powerful stories. This campaign blends the colours of rival teams during every match to create a unique and exclusive shade that embodies the essence of their clash.

Before each match, players from the competing teams will share what their team’s colours mean to them. As they speak, their team colours will dynamically fuse into a new shade, representing not just competition but also the unity, energy, and camaraderie that make IPL special.

Inderpreet Singh, Head of Marketing at Birla Opus Paints, explained the brand’s vision behind the campaign. “At Birla Opus Paints, we believe in the transformative power of colours. This IPL season, through the Indian Colours League, we’re blending the colours of rival teams in each match to celebrate camaraderie and legacy. We invite fans to witness the magic that happens when colours fuse—because, both in cricket and in life, every interaction has the power to create something truly unforgettable.”

Fan Engagement Through Colours

JioHotstar is excited to bring this unique experience to IPL fans. Ishan Chatterjee, Chief Business Officer, Sports Revenue, SMB & Creator at JioStar, shared how the campaign aims to deepen fan engagement. “At JioHotstar, we are always looking for ways to push the boundaries of fan engagement, and the Indian Colours League does just that. Cricket and colours both have a deep emotional connection with people, and this campaign beautifully brings them together. By blending the worlds of cricket and colour, we are offering fans an experience that goes beyond the game, turning every match into a visual spectacle.”

Sachin Kamble, Chief Creative Officer at Leo – South Asia, described how the campaign reflects the emotional and competitive aspects of IPL. “Cricket isn’t just a game—it’s a canvas of passion, sportsmanship, emotion, and camaraderie, just like the colours that represent each team. The Indian Colours League captures this spirit by blending competitiveness with friendship, resulting in beautiful shades that symbolize unity.”

Creating a Colour-Coded Legacy

The Indian Colours League campaign has been developed through a collaboration between Birla Opus Paints, Leo India, and Wavemaker India, in partnership with JioHotstar. Every unique shade born from these high-energy matches becomes more than just a colour. It turns into a carefully crafted identity that reflects the culture, spirit, and history of the teams and cities involved.

Just as every IPL match is a battle of skills, every fusion of team colours creates a new and exciting shade that celebrates not just rivalry but also the shared love for the game. This thoughtful approach leaves behind a colour-coded legacy, allowing fans to remember each match through the unique shades that capture the spirit of the clash.

As IPL 2025 unfolds, the Indian Colours League promises to add a new dimension to the cricketing experience by turning every match into a celebration of colours, creativity, and connection.
