WhatsApp is about to introduce a new feature that will allow users to customize their chats with unique themes. This update is currently in beta testing, meaning it is only available to a limited group of users at the moment. The new tool, called “Custom Chat Themes,” will let users personalize the appearance of their conversations, offering a more enjoyable and tailored messaging experience.
The new custom chat themes are being tested with WhatsApp versions 2.24.21.34 for Android and 24.20.71 for iOS. Early reports suggest there will be 22 different themes, each with up to 20 color variations. These themes will allow users to change both the background and the chat colors to suit their preferences. Importantly, the themes will only be visible to the user who applies them, ensuring that chat customization remains private.
This new feature adds more personalization options to WhatsApp, which previously only offered a choice between bright and dark modes. Users will now have the ability to set a single theme for all their chats or apply individual themes for specific conversations.
Enhanced Video Calling Features
In addition to the chat theme update, WhatsApp is also rolling out several improvements to its video calling feature. Users will now have the option to add filters during video calls, including choices like Warm, Cool, and Dreamy filters. These filters can help make video calls more fun and visually appealing.
WhatsApp is also introducing background customization during video calls. Users will be able to change their video call backgrounds to settings like beach views or cozy living rooms, adding a creative touch to their calls.
For those worried about poor lighting during video calls, WhatsApp has added two new tools: “Touch Up” and “Low Light” mode. The “Touch Up” tool helps users adjust their appearance in real-time, while the “Low Light” mode enhances video quality in dimly lit environments. These features are designed to improve the overall video calling experience, making it easier for users to look their best on camera.
When Will These Features Be Available?
While these updates are currently in beta testing, WhatsApp plans to release them to all users soon. These exciting new features are expected to roll out to the general public within the next few weeks.
