US-Based VideoDB Buys Devzery to Boost Its AI Video Testing Power

Share post:

San Francisco-based artificial intelligence video infrastructure company VideoDB has acquired Chennai-based Devzery, a software testing startup that builds AI-driven regression testing workflows. The strategic acquisition is expected to strengthen VideoDB’s capabilities in developer experience and product reliability across AI-driven video applications such as surveillance, model training, and real-time media processing.

Founded in 2021, Devzery began with the goal of simplifying backend testing by removing the need for developers to write or maintain test code manually. Its AI-based tool integrates into continuous integration and deployment pipelines to automate the testing process. The platform has been used by several organizations, including Cimpress, Shopflo, and Zeda.io. Devzery previously raised USD 125,000 from venture accelerator Upekkha to speed up its product development and growth.

The acquisition will integrate Devzery’s codeless testing features with VideoDB’s AI-first video infrastructure. This combination aims to improve the reliability of AI model workflows, video management, and developer operations across large-scale implementations. The merged system is expected to provide enhanced automation, testing, and deployment options for engineering teams working with high-volume video and data content.

Product Integration Plans

VideoDB, established in 2023, develops tools that make video content programmable, searchable, and machine learning-ready. Its technology allows live-stream querying, automatic tagging, and building of applications on top of video pipelines. Integrating Devzery’s automated regression testing is expected to make VideoDB’s offering more enterprise-ready, especially for teams building complex AI video applications.

According to VideoDB, this acquisition marks its first major expansion into software testing infrastructure and positions the company to deliver more reliable testing and monitoring solutions. The move reflects a broader trend in the AI sector where companies are focusing on combining content infrastructure and backend testing automation.

Strengthening Developer Focus

As part of the transition, Devzery’s founders and core team will join VideoDB, while continuing to operate Devzery’s existing suite of products. VideoDB is expected to provide the resources and market access needed for Devzery to scale in the United States and other international markets.

VideoDB plans to retain Devzery’s product line while incorporating its testing engine into its video stack to create a seamless experience for developers. The combined expertise of both teams is expected to help accelerate innovation in AI video analysis tools and automated backend testing.

VideoDB & Devzery

Devzery specializes in developing artificial intelligence tools that automate software testing, focusing primarily on API-based regression workflows. The company’s platform is used to streamline testing and improve consistency in backend systems.

VideoDB is a US-based AI-native video infrastructure provider founded in 2023. It builds systems that allow videos to be treated as data—making them searchable, programmable, and integrated with machine learning workflows for global video-based applications.
