The Bear House Launches First Mumbai Store at Marketcity Kurla

Contemporary menswear label The Bear House has officially opened its first store in Mumbai at Phoenix Marketcity, Kurla. Spread across 1,500 sq. ft., this outlet marks the brand’s fifth exclusive store in India and its much-anticipated entry into the country’s fashion capital.

Founded in 2017 by Tanvi and Harsh Somaiya, the Bengaluru-based brand has carved a space for itself with its European-inspired and minimalist approach to menswear. By launching in Mumbai, The Bear House now joins the city’s thriving retail ecosystem where premium and modern fashion continues to grow rapidly.

First Flagship Store in Mumbai

The Mumbai store comes with a cave-inspired design theme that ties back to the brand’s recurring “bear” motif. With earthy tones, textured materials, and asymmetrical façades, the interiors aim to deliver a fresh and contemporary shopping experience.

Adding to its charm, bear-faced mannequins and a central seating space adjoining the fitting rooms create a lounge-like atmosphere. This is intended to give shoppers a sense of community, comfort, and relaxation while exploring collections. The store reflects not just a retail outlet but also the brand’s vision of building an immersive fashion ecosystem.

The Bear House is more than a clothing label , it’s an ecosystem of fashion, design, comfort, and community.

Founders Share Their Perspective

Speaking about this new launch, Harsh and Tanvi Somaiya highlighted the importance of Mumbai in the fashion landscape. They described the store opening as both a business milestone and a personal achievement, given the city’s cultural and style significance.

According to the founders, “The Bear House is more than a clothing label, it’s an ecosystem of design, comfort, and community.” Their focus has consistently been on creating garments that combine modern aesthetics with everyday practicality.

Journey of Steady Growth

Since its inception, The Bear House has grown from an online-first presence to a recognizable brand across both digital and offline retail channels. The label’s offerings include shirts, polos, t-shirts, denims, outerwear, boxers, and accessories, all crafted with attention to detail and comfort.

The brand is already well-established on leading e-commerce platforms such as Myntra, Ajio, Flipkart, Amazon, and Nykaa. Expanding offline, The Bear House has launched flagship stores in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Pune, with Mumbai now adding another stronghold to its portfolio.

The Bear House Brand

At its core, The Bear House brand is built on the idea of minimalism fused with European sensibilities. Its collections resonate with men who prefer versatile clothing that transitions seamlessly from casual to smart-casual settings.

By blending design innovation with comfort-first fabrics, the brand appeals to young professionals, students, and fashion-conscious individuals. The founders emphasize that The Bear House is not only about style but also about building connections, offering experiences, and shaping a lifestyle community.

Future Expansion Plans

Looking ahead, The Bear House has laid out ambitious expansion plans. The brand aims to open 20 additional stores within this financial year, strengthening its offline footprint across more cities in India.

With its growing presence, The Bear House is positioning itself as a modern menswear leader in the Indian retail market. The Mumbai store, with its unique concept and strong branding, sets the tone for the brand’s upcoming launches.

The entry into Mumbai is more than just another store opening — it reflects The Bear House’s larger ambition to redefine contemporary menswear in India. With its strong identity, immersive experiences, and consumer-first designs, the brand is steadily becoming a go-to choice for modern Indian men.
