Shark Tank India Season 5 has completed about a month on air, showing a sharper investment pace compared with earlier seasons. The ongoing season highlights stronger deal-making activity, with several investors committing capital across a wide range of early-stage businesses.
From a total capital pool of Rs 100 crore available to the panel, investments worth Rs 61.48 crore have been committed so far. Out of 66 pitches presented on the show until Thursday, 40 founders have secured funding commitments, reflecting a relatively high conversion rate.
Aman Gupta has emerged as the most active investor this season in terms of capital deployed. He has committed Rs 18.2 crore across 17 startups, placing him at the top of the investment table and making him the highest spender among the panel so far.
The current season also shows investors backing sectors beyond their traditional comfort zones. This shift is seen as a sign of growing confidence in founders and business models presented on the show.
Investor-Wise Trends
Kunal Bahl ranks second in terms of total investment value, with commitments of Rs 12.6 crore across 10 ventures. His deal count places him among the more consistent investors this season, focusing on scalable consumer and technology-led businesses.
Namita Thapar follows closely with total commitments of Rs 9.5 crore across 14 deals. She recently closed her 15th investment by backing an AI-based audio generation platform, adding to her growing portfolio on the show.
Anupam Mittal stands fourth in overall investment value, having committed Rs 8.9 crore across 13 ventures so far. He also recently sealed another deal by investing Rs 1 crore in a food-focused startup during the ongoing season.
Varun Alagh has committed Rs 3.73 crore across four deals, while Ritesh Agarwal has invested Rs 3 crore in four ventures. Vineeta Singh has participated in four deals with a total commitment of Rs 1.30 crore.
New entrants this season have also begun building their portfolios. Mohit Yadav has committed Rs 2.63 crore across three investments, while Kanika Tekriwal has invested Rs 1.1 crore in three startups. Amit Jain has so far invested Rs 50 lakh in one venture.
