Biome, an Indian venture studio, has completed the first close of its capital raise. The studio received strong backing from well-known entrepreneurs and powerful family offices.
Investors include Cyient founder BVR Mohan Reddy, Ecoren Energy’s Prasad Yerneni, and GAR Corp’s Abhinav Reddy. Family office backers include leaders from Zaggle, MediaMint, and the Phoenix Group.
Biome Startup Funding
Biome has committed Rs 100 crore to be invested over the next three years. This money will go into startups that Biome helps build from scratch.
The studio follows a focused model—co-founding only up to three startups a year. Each startup is supported by Biome’s internal teams of experts in product, growth, and operations.
Examples in Action
One startup Biome has already co-developed is Zoop.Money, a digital home loan platform. Another is a US-based AI venture still in stealth, led by a top AI scientist.
These early ventures show Biome’s interest in solving global problems, with a strong foundation in sustainability and governance.
Studio’s Vision
Biome isn’t just a funding body, it acts as a hands-on partner. “We co-create from day one,” said Srinivas Kollipara, Managing Partner at Biome.
Co-founder Madhu Poomalil added that the studio builds ventures with long-term planning and strong execution, aiming to turn bold ideas into real businesses.
Founders Bring Expertise
Biome’s core team includes experienced professionals like Kaustubh Patekar, Zara Bhagwagar, Kollipara, and Poomalil, all bringing deep knowledge of startups and operations.
Unlike typical investors, Biome helps startups shape their business plans, build products, and scale quickly with direct support.
What is Biome?
Biome is a venture studio that doesn’t just invest, it builds startups alongside founders. It works closely with entrepreneurs from idea stage to execution.
With deep involvement, Biome gives access to expert teams, funding, and industry connections. Its model helps reduce early startup risks while increasing chances of success.
Building for the Future
Biome plans to use its new capital to launch high-impact startups from India that can grow globally. Its builder-first approach sets it apart from traditional investors.
With its selective model and strong backing, Biome is becoming a key launchpad for scalable, sustainable startups in India’s innovation space.
