Bengaluru-based electric vehicle startup iGo (iGoWise Mobility), popularly known as iGo, has raised Rs 8.2 crore in a pre-seed funding round. The investment was led by ISB Angels, with participation from 888VC and Guptaji VC. The company plans to utilise this fresh capital to automate manufacturing, lower production costs, and strengthen after-sales networks across India.
iGo Funding
A major portion of the funds will also be directed towards research and development, ensuring the brand continues to innovate in the electric trike space. Additionally, part of the capital will be used to support working capital requirements, helping iGo fulfil its growing order pipeline efficiently.
Founded in 2020 by Sravan K Appana, iGo focuses on building rugged and intelligent EV platforms suitable for both urban and rural environments. Its flagship innovation, BeiGo, is positioned as India’s first electric pickup trike. Unlike traditional two-wheelers, BeiGo comes equipped with patented anti-topple leaning technology and on-demand self-balancing, making it far more stable and safer for everyday use.
The company claims its trikes are five times more cost-effective, three times more energy-efficient, and twice as compact compared to international competitors. These advantages make BeiGo ideal for delivery partners, gig workers, and small-scale logistics operators who need reliability without high ownership costs.
Built on Proprietary Platform
At the core of iGo’s vehicles is the TwiiGo lightEV platform, a proprietary system designed to handle steep inclines, rough terrains, and dense traffic conditions. Safety features such as triple-disc anti-skid CBS ensure riders maintain control even in challenging environments.
So far, iGo has accumulated over 1 lakh kilometres of real-world usage data from test riders and pilot users. This data-driven approach has helped the startup refine its product for maximum performance and durability, especially in demanding Indian conditions.
Deployment Plans Begin
iGo now plans to deploy 1,500 units of its electric trikes over the next 12 to 18 months. The rollout will be executed through fleet partners such as Hala Mobility and Elektrik Express, covering key cities including Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, and Panjim.
The company claims its vehicles can increase rider income by up to Rs 7,500 per month, thanks to lower operating costs and higher load-carrying capacity. This makes BeiGo not just an eco-friendly alternative, but also a powerful economic enabler for delivery agents, micro-entrepreneurs, and rural logistics operators.
iGo Launch
After 32 months of development, iGo is ready to bring its first commercial product — the BeiGo Rugged Utility Vehicle — to the market. The launch marks a new era for compact electric logistics vehicles in India, offering a smart middle ground between two-wheelers and expensive four-wheel commercial vehicles.
With India rapidly pushing towards electric mobility adoption, iGo’s timing couldn’t be better. By solving real-world challenges like vehicle stability, affordability, and terrain adaptability, the startup is positioning itself as a key player in the last-mile mobility revolution.
