Wahter Raises Rs 5 Crore in Pre-Seed Funding for Business Growth

Share post:

Wahter, an innovative startup that combines advertising with packaged drinking water, has successfully raised Rs 5 crore in a pre-seed funding round. This funding values the company at Rs 52 crore. Founded in December 2023 by Amitt Nenwani and Kashish A. Nenwani, Wahter integrates brand advertisements into water bottle labels, allowing them to offer bottled water at extremely low prices. The advertising revenue subsidizes the cost, making it possible for Wahter to sell bottled water for just Rs 1 or Rs 2.

Purpose of Wahter Fundraising

This Rs 5 Crore fund raised in pre-seed funding will be used to expand Wahter’s distribution network, optimize production processes, and enhance its advertising-driven revenue model. Wahter plans to increase the number of carts, strollers, and kiosks in high-traffic areas such as metro stations, malls, and public places. This expansion will help advertisers reach a broader audience. Additionally, Wahter aims to invest in advanced technology to streamline operations and logistics, ensuring the consistent quality of its bottled water. The startup also plans to grow its team to support these expansion efforts.

What Wahter Co-Founder’s Vision

“Wahter is significantly changing the advertising and packaged drinking water sectors. We are encouraged by the positive response from both brands and consumers. The campaigns we have conducted for our brands have yielded surprisingly positive results, highlighting the effectiveness of our model. Securing this pre-seed funding reflects our investors’ confidence in our innovative business model and vision,” said Amitt Nenwani, Co-Founder of Wahter.

Partnerships with Notable Brands

Since its launch, Wahter has deployed over 100 carts, strollers, and kiosks in high-footfall areas. The startup has also established partnerships with notable brands like boAt, Vijay Sales, and ACE Capitals, which support the distribution of clean water and enhance brand visibility. In its first month alone, Wahter claims it sold 2 lakh drinking water bottles in the Delhi NCR region, demonstrating strong demand for its affordable product.

Wahter’s unique approach to combining advertising with essential services is creating a new niche in the market. By providing affordable bottled water subsidized by advertisements, Wahter not only meets consumer needs but also offers brands a new way to reach their audience. With the recent funding, Wahter Rs 5 crore pre-seed funding is poised to expand its reach and further innovate in the advertising and packaged drinking water industries.
