Iom Bioworks, a rising healthtech startup centered on microbiome-based healthcare, has successfully raised Rs 4 crore in Seed Round funding. The round was led by Inflection Point Ventures (IPV). The funds will be used to boost marketing, file more patents, build scientific infrastructure, and grow both the technical and commercial teams.

Founded in 2022, Iom Bioworks focuses on using gut bacteria to personalize health and improve digestion, immunity, metabolism, and overall well-being. Their innovative approach merges AI with microbiome science to provide tailored, science-backed health recommendations.

Early Traction and Vision

Within its first year of operations, the startup gained over 500 customers and built a pan-India digital and logistics network for delivering microbiome analysis and wellness services. Iom Bioworks believes that “a healthy body and mind begins in the gut,” and it’s helping people make informed lifestyle changes based on their unique microbiome profiles.

Co-founder and CEO Bipin Pradeep Kumar stated that the startup’s mission is to empower people through microbiome-centered wellness using prebiotics and food-based guidance. He praised IPV’s support and described the partnership as crucial to their progress so far.

Strong Scientific Foundation

The leadership team includes Dr. Samik Ghosh, who heads science and technology, applying computational biology for precise interventions, and Dr. Hiroaki Kitano, an internationally known systems biologist and AI researcher, who leads research and collaborations.

The company already holds two granted patents, with two more in the pipeline, and their findings have been published in respected scientific journals, signaling strong R&D capabilities.

Vinay Bansal, founder of IPV, highlighted the rising interest in gut health as chronic lifestyle diseases continue to increase.
