IG Drones, a promising drone-tech startup, has raised USD 1 million in seed funding. The funding round was led by India Accelerator, with contributions from other angel investors. According to a press release from the company, the funds will primarily be used to further research and development, particularly focusing on defence applications.

Drone Solutions for Multiple Sectors

Co-founded in 2018 by Bodhisattwa Sanghapriya and Om Prakash, IG Drones offers a range of drone-based services. These include mapping, surveying, and inspection tasks for industries such as agriculture, powerline monitoring, bridge inspection, pipeline, and solar plant inspection, as well as railroad services. The company’s cutting-edge solutions make use of artificial intelligence and other advanced technologies to provide precise, reliable services.

Flagship Products: Jaga and Kisaan Drones

IG Drones’ flagship product, the AI-powered Jaga drone, delivers advanced performance and is tailored for specific tasks such as defence operations. Another product, the Kisaan drone, aims to empower the agricultural sector by providing innovative solutions to enhance farming practices.

Tech Funding

In addition to these offerings, IG Drones recently built a 5G-enabled drone and launched India’s first indigenous simulator—the ‘IG Military Simulator’—designed for defence training and other strategic purposes.

Strong Footprint in Defence

Based in Delhi, IG Drones has made impressive strides in the industry. The company has completed more than 500 projects, collaborating with the Indian Army, several state governments, and over 100 major corporations. Their continued efforts in drone innovation position them as a key player in both the commercial and defence sectors.

Competition in the Drone Market

Despite its early success, IG Drones is not without competition. The startup may face challenges from other market participants like Ideaforge and Drona Aviation, both of which are making strides in the drone technology space.

Future for IG Drones

With the recent funding and ongoing innovations, IG Drones is well on its way to further establishing itself as a leader in the drone tech industry. The startup’s focus on advanced defence applications and innovative solutions for various sectors is expected to propel its growth in the coming years.
