Chandigarh-based fashion brand Theater has successfully raised $1.5 million in a pre-Series A funding round. The round was led by Mumbai-based venture capital firm Prath Ventures, with additional support from existing angel investors. This new capital will be used to expand the brand’s offline presence and enhance its design and production processes.
Expanding Offline Presence
Theater plans to use the funds to establish a stronger offline presence, which the company believes is essential for reaching a larger audience. In addition, the brand is focusing on speeding up its design iteration and production processes to bring new products to market faster. Theater also aims to explore new sales channels, including quick commerce, to drive its growth even further.
A Focus on Women’s Fashion
Founded in 2021 by Sarthak Aggarwal, Vikram Jain, Karan Jain, and Shruti Aggarwal, Theater specializes in women’s fashion, offering products like footwear, stockings, perfumes, and bags. The brand’s products are priced between Rs 900 and Rs 4,000, aiming to provide mass-premium fashion that combines timeless design with high-quality materials.
Sarthak Aggarwal, the CEO of Theater, shared the brand’s vision: “Our mission is to transform the Indian fashion landscape through a design-centric approach. We want to offer fashion products that are both stylish and long-lasting.”
Investor Confidence in Theater’s Vision
Investors are optimistic about Theater’s potential to become a leading lifestyle brand in India. Piyush Goenka, Managing Partner at Prath Ventures, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “The Indian consumption story is at its inflection point, and we see a significant opportunity in categories like women’s shoes and perfumes. We are excited to partner with Sarthak, Vikram, Shruti, and Karan to build a category-defining lifestyle brand out of India.”
With the new funding and the support of its investors, Theater is poised to make a significant impact on the Indian fashion industry.
