Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Amit Shah, has inaugurated several significant development projects under the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, worth INR 1,003 crore. The projects aim to advance Ahmedabad’s infrastructure, environmental sustainability, and public health services. The inauguration event, held in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, was attended by notable dignitaries, including Gujarat’s Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel.
As part of the event, Amit Shah inaugurated the ‘Oxygen Park’ in Thaltej and planted trees in Vejalpur under the ‘Mission 3 Million Tree Scheme.’ These initiatives reflect the government’s dedication to promoting environmental conservation and public health. Shah also opened a newly constructed swimming pool and gym in Makarba, reinforcing the importance of physical well-being and community facilities.
Focus on Gandhinagar Constituency
During his speech, Amit Shah highlighted that out of the total investment of INR 1,003 crore, INR 730 crore was dedicated to the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency, which he represents as a Member of Parliament. The remaining funds were allocated to two other constituencies. Shah noted that, since becoming an MP, the Gandhinagar constituency has consistently received annual development investments of INR 5,000 crore.
Projects in the Gandhinagar area are setting new benchmarks for growth, with 21 projects already completed and four more underway. In the other two constituencies, 18 projects have been completed, and two additional projects have had their foundation stones laid.
Focus on Environmental Sustainability
One of the significant highlights of the event was the ‘Mission 3 Million Tree Scheme,’ which is part of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation’s campaign to plant 30 lakh trees in 100 days. Shah urged residents to actively participate in this campaign by planting trees in their neighborhoods. He linked this initiative to the broader global mission to reduce carbon footprints and combat climate change.
Shah also referenced Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign, where citizens are encouraged to plant trees in honor of their mothers. This personal and meaningful initiative is designed to raise awareness about environmental protection at an individual level.
Vision for Ahmedabad Future
Concluding his speech, Amit Shah shared his vision for Ahmedabad as a fully developed city with modern amenities, a clean and smoke-free environment, and comprehensive public health coverage. He pledged that these goals would be achieved within the next two years, ensuring the city’s continued growth and sustainability.
Inauguration of the INR 1,003 crore development projects in Ahmedabad is a significant step toward enhancing the city’s infrastructure, environmental sustainability, and public health services. With a strong focus on tree planting, community well-being, and modern amenities, these initiatives reflect a broader vision of making Ahmedabad a model city for development and environmental consciousness.
